CBS CEO Earned $58 Million In 2010

Guess the term recession doesn't really apply to him, huh?

Leslie Moonves, CBS Corp. president and CEO, received a 33.6% pay increase this past year. His base salary remained unchanged at $3.5 million dollars, but he received a bonus worth $27.5 million "for the successes in his role as president and chief executive officer of the company "and "for his leadership in connection with the creation of premium content across the company's portfolio of businesses, particularly with respect to the CBS Television Network, which outperformed its media peers in 2010," according to a regulatory filing made public today. The rest of his bundle came from rises in his stock and options with the company.

So, to recap - Leslie Moonves is filthy, stinkin' rich for basically signing his name to documents other people wrote, on topics other people debated on and got all the credit for the "success" of the network when it takes an army of people to create just one show on his successful network.

And the P.A. on How I Met Your Mother is wondering how she's going to buy gas this week.

Just saying. Perspective.

So how much money did YOU make this year trashing people and revenue whoring others owned media? Just saying. Perspective.

  3. 3

and yet they canceled the soaps because they are a bit expensive to produce, laying off hundreds of peeps and this dude gets all that money all to himself. Wow selfish bastards!!

Re: Rohan – At least Perez thrashes people himself, doesn't get someone else do it for him.

So naive. CEO is an extremely lonely position and is so much more than what you described. I can't imagine what's on the plate of an executive that manages roughly a $30 billion dollar company or whatever their market cap is not sure.

  6. 6

how much do you think his pay is gonna drop now that two and a half men is getting canceled?

  7. 7

that's absolutely true. there's an army of people doing everything and they don't receive credit, or fame, or fortune… and it gets worse. a looot of people that work for them are now freelancers in order to avoid paying them benefits. don't be fooled, CEOs from hell help the company to make money denying all benefits possible in order to make money to the company at the expense of it's employees. but you watch cbs, hm? so you're directly responsible for the evil as well. and thank you for watching ( and paying for cable) stupid! :-)

obscene and ridiculous. The top gets richer and everyone else has to pay.

  9. 9

Not bad for a network with only a couple of popular shows.

    agreed.

Okay… clearly you don't understand how hard the CEO's of companies have to work to hold a company together. Is the bonus a little over the top? Yes, but you have no right to comment on the work he does. Just because you run a website doesn't mean you know anything about his job or workload. There's a reason he has the title of Chief Executive Officer.

Re: giabread – You think he actually writes on this website fuckface? Stay in school geek and don't comment on what you, obviously, are clueless about.

This clown Moonves disparages Black viewers and cheated on his then-wife with his mistress, Julie Chen. Just another arrogant big shot.

No checks and balances over excess these days.

  16. 16

why do stock holders and employees allow top company officers to run away with the company profits. The profits should be in savings and investments for rainy days not in crooks pockets so they can buy $20,000,oo shower curtains

Re: diamondheart – But by cancelling the soaps, his wife gets her on talk show. I'm sure she'll also still get to host Big Brother this summer!
