Guess the term recession doesn't really apply to him, huh?
Leslie Moonves, CBS Corp. president and CEO, received a 33.6% pay increase this past year. His base salary remained unchanged at $3.5 million dollars, but he received a bonus worth $27.5 million "for the successes in his role as president and chief executive officer of the company "and "for his leadership in connection with the creation of premium content across the company's portfolio of businesses, particularly with respect to the CBS Television Network, which outperformed its media peers in 2010," according to a regulatory filing made public today. The rest of his bundle came from rises in his stock and options with the company.
So, to recap - Leslie Moonves is filthy, stinkin' rich for basically signing his name to documents other people wrote, on topics other people debated on and got all the credit for the "success" of the network when it takes an army of people to create just one show on his successful network.
And the P.A. on How I Met Your Mother is wondering how she's going to buy gas this week.
Just saying. Perspective.
