Darren Criss is on the cover of Billboard Magazine this month and while we know we could spend hours ogling his gorgeousness, we're also really excited about some of the things he said in his interview. Darren covered a wide range of topics, from his early influences to the upcoming Glee tour…to his own solo album!!!!
Aaaah-mazing!! We would adore that!!! We've heard some of his original work from before Glee and we know he has a real gift for songwriting! We'd love to hear him use it!!!

Why he got into musical theater:
For me, it was Disney. I remember seeing people’s reaction to “Aladdin” and thinking, “Oh, man, I want to be a genie when I grow up!” Robin Williams is a pretty big character in San Francisco. I was like, “I want to do whatever that guy does. What does he do, Mom? He’s an actor? OK, I want to do that.”About possibly releasing a solo album with Sony music:
We’re working on it—we’re really excited and it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I’m so thrilled that it’s something that can happen because of Glee, and like the Warblers album I hope I can do it justice and make it something that people can really enjoy.Getting prepared for the Glee tour:
A year ago, I was so psyched that my first show in L.A. was at the Troubadour. Talk about so much for baby steps. It’s like, “Wait—Staples Center, are you kidding me?” I was happy to drive around in a beat-up, crappy old van with my bandmates and just go to small clubs around the country.
We have nothing but love and respect for this stud. He is humble, he is talented and if he got any more adorable, they'd have to fire everyone else on Glee just so he could be on for the full 42 minutes.

I'm getting kind of tired of him. He's just very over-exposed and it's like, "Ugh!" I wonder, if he was playing a straight character, would the media be all over him? Ryan Murphy def. has favorite characters on Glee and really only writes for them. Screw everyone else. Can Mike Chang get a song or a LINE at this point?
Oh man, I can't wait for a Darren solo album. He is just so good at what he does.

Re: Shannon92 – I agree Shannon. I do feel his character on glee if it was a straight guy and not white or not even hot, then yea his media buzz wouldn't be so high. Michael Chang I once saw on E! News on a little Q&A interview. But that's it. Nothing as much as Darren Criss.
I know alot of people though that don't really like Glee but they like it when Darren sang "Teenage Dream" for the first time and they downloaded. So I think it's the cross over effect Darren Criss has with people who don't watch Glee and are watching it now because of songs he does and his humble personality is another factor why alto of people like him besides his looks. But yea "Glee" is a machine that's helping out alot of singers & actors who were mabye overlooked, rejected & not given alot famous big break before in their past and now are getting good karma back at them That's why I like the show.
His version of "Hay Soul Sister" is one of my favourite Glee songs of all time!
Two words. Over. Exposed.
The guy has talent. The student run production of A Very Potter Musical is amazing. He deserves the fame.
