Mother Monster Will Have A Very Special Collaborator On The New Album

| Filed under: Music MinuteLady GaGa

This is a big deal. This is a musical mash-up for the ages.

It's been confirmed that Brian May, the legendary guitarist for Queen, will be featured on Lady GaGa's upcoming album, Born This Way. Brian will be playing guitar on the track You & I.

Outstanding! Brian is an incredible musician and will surely bring a lot of life to the song. We're so excited for our wifey to get the honor of working with him!

Have you nitwits ever considered that her new album cover is like that, precisely because it embodies the whole "I don't give a shit, I'll do whatever the hell I want and like" attitude? Cheezy album cover, 3rd grade photoshop work? The "I don't give a shit, I'll do whatever the hell I want and like" muscles are being flexed. You guys really think that Gaga actually cares to adhere to certain aesthetic standards?

I am not impressed with this new album so far. The first two singles are not so great, the album cover is a fucking tragedy and seriously, how many versions of one song do you have to make just to get it to sell? I really like her previous music, but this newer stuff is just crap. Doing cocaine does not guarantee that you'll produce good music. Her ego is just astronomical. Brian May is a great guitarist, but unless the song is actually good, he'll be lending his talent for nothing other than to sell some records to gullible fans. Queen was fantastic, but if Gaga thinks she is on their level, she better think again. Freddie Mercury's bones are more talented.

Gah perez could u be farther up her ass?

  5. 5

What is with that cover? She was born a motorcycle? What a mess, at least Judas is a better single than Born This Way but it didn't take much.

    Paula Deen!!

Re: deranged revolutionary – And have YOU ever considered that maybe she so far up her ass that she thinks no matter what she puts out it will be viewed as eccentric, art and complex? even if it isn't but people like you (her little monsters) will analyze and give such great complexed meaning to them without her even having to try anymore? sounds about right to me.

her new song JUDAS is fucking AMAZING!!

  10. 10

there are people with talent… and then there is lady gaga. an advertisement marketing who**… people just go with the flow and don't have the resources for good music.

  11. 11

I'm loving that Gaga is embracing the suck so much. It's like she's daring you to like her..and sheep are still lining up..its fantastic!

  12. 12

I mean I love Brian May, he's really great, but it ain't like Clapton or Jeff Beck are backing her!!

  13. 13

She wishes she could do the heavy metal hell even hard rock hence her album cover but she is simply a pop singer with limited vocal range. She will only be known for gimmicks as opposed to music that will transcend the generations. Just ask all those pop singers who end up on easy listening radio stations so say hello to your future Gaga.

  14. 14

Re: deranged revolutionary – lmao, that's such a lame excuse. if she was the high artist she wished she was, NO ONE in their right mind would put out such low grade artwork crap! she doesn't give a shit, lmfao, that's not a realistic way to go about business.. she gives a thousand shits–if she really didn't give a shit she would drop the tryhard horns and tryhard makeup and the lame blonde hair that never looked good on her no matter how much she/her team tries to force it too and walk around like Stefani Germanotta.. O wait, she doesn't. She gives a shit. :D

It is funny though, the cover. Such a funny trainwreck!

so who cares.gaga is a wannabe,. she tries too much be who she aint. she sucks.her new single is horrible.her album cover even worst.u arent madonna dear.u cant even push the limits. not a fan anymore

  16. 16

    Lol, so…he sold out

  17. 17

Gaga sells only cause people like my nephews who are 10 years old buy her trash.

  18. 18

    Re: M:
You never were a fan. It wasn't that long ago before GaGa blew up that you were doing the same shit to Britney Spears, ripping her apart because you were so threatened that she'd take the crown from your ugly old hag. Now that GaGa is huge, you all of a sudden like Britney. Sometimes I wonder if you are even real or is this Madonna obsession just an act, because no one can be that crazy. But you do provide some good laughs.

    Re: bleahf
exactly. it's kids these days that make people famous. i mean come on justin bieber is huuuuge. bc middle school girls buy his stuff lol no adults with taste would call gaga music.nsync was big in my days. they had a monster fan base of kids and teens. kids don't know any better with music. the listen to what the kids in their class listen to.

  20. 20

Lady GaGa is nothing but a gimmick, always "pushing the limits" for shock value. Her music is extremely mediocre, annoying, repetitive. This album cover is horrendous, but she doesn't seem to care about gaining new fans. She probably thinks that with the fan base she's already acquired, she can put out absolutely anything and her young fans will just eat it up. It's highly laughable that she would call this the album of the decade. Just look at it, listen to her first singles. It's her worst work yet, so I can imagine the rest of the album being just as atrocious. Everything she's done has been done before her. Does she think she can put this up for another 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? Not a chance. It's just getting tiring. Lady GaGa, stop the gimmicks, it's about time now.

  21. 21

LOL I could care less about whose on the album. That album cover is sooo hilarious lololol. I'd be embarrassed if I was a flop monster. Lawl.

What the hell is that picture? Is she supposed to be the motorcycle or what? Chick is off her rocker…

  26. 26

Re: gagasucksss – Exactly but her fans are so 'dedicated' to her that they are like a cult. No matter what she does, it always is gold. A true fan loves the artist for who they are but still respects themselves enough to not follow everything the artist does. Some of her fans are into her that they are so full of hate for anyone that mildly disagrees.

  27. 27

WHAT THE HELL????? I want to cry right now: Brian May, my personal guitar hero, will perform for this UNTALENTED AND USELESS COPYCAT???? I'm so disapointed…. I think Freddie is crying in heaven too….he propobably never wanted to have the name of his fabulous band linked to this so called singer… Good music is dead.

  28. 28

Re: mattyvoyager – LOL honey, you got it just right! :)

  29. 29

Oh God….seriously disappointed in Brian. Why in the hell would he play with this untalented hack?!? It can't be simply because she took her persona name from a Queen song, is it?!? Well, it might end up being the only Gaga song I like but she'd best damn be respectful!

  30. 30

Re: cripbabe111 – Um, I hate to tell you this but Brian is just as damn good as Clapton or Beck. I'm not happy he's doing this with Gaga, but yeah, you're way off.

  31. 31

    Re: aLLiEUGARe: bleahf
Yeah, they said only kids listen to Elvis 50 years ago, Madonna 25 years ago, and Britney 10 years ago, and they're all still going strong because, yeah, it's just kids who listen to them. Look, I know you think you're cool because you don't listen to her, and you probably throw around words like "sheep" whenever possible, because you think it makes you sound smart, but don't try to generalize people who like a certain artist I'm a GaGa fan, but I also own a ton of music with over 1000 albums and more than 6000 songs on my IPOD of hundreds of artists dating back more than 6 decades with every genre possible, and with tastes ranging from mainstream to alternative to obscure to guilty pleasures, so if you want to debate about people who don't have resources for good music, we can do this.

  32. 32

PLEASE. none of these monsters would have even known who he was. Her first two singles both SUCK! SOOOO BAD!

  33. 33

    Re: yeaman
Well, you seem "dedicated" in posting about her. Why do you care what her fans think? Did one of her fans on the internet make you cry? Anyone can troll on here and say shit to people while hiding behind a computer. I don't know of many GaGa fans who in real life will tear someone apart just because that person disagrees.

  34. 34

Re: yeaman – Same can be said about certain Madonna, Britney, Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber and Glee fans on Perez. Every artist has a couple of nutjob followers. If they would tell them to jump off a cliff they would. Best to ignore them altogether.

Re: suzyelizabeth – Who wouldn't want his axe brilliance on a tune if he would do it. Astrophysicist Dr. Brian May, CBE and former Queen quitarist riffing on your tune? Hello. I have always admired his work. Always.

brian indeed is an incredible musician, tranny caca is not.

Re: china – Yeah, his hooks alone can put a tune into the ozone.
    Gaga can ride the wave.

  39. 39

    Re: @v@
Brian May is the one with deep baritone on "Bohemian Rhapsody," am I right? Hell yeah, I'd want him on my record as well. GaGa has always been an avowed Queen fan, and it's great that she's working with her one of her heroes. I'm pretty sure she was more than humble in his presence.

  40. 40

Perez, you lost all your credibility when you claimed to love a cover so unfathomably hideous that it actuated one fan to threaten suicide.

  41. 41

I think she's full of shit….She will say, or do whatever she has to in order to sell her music. That's showbiz, folks…I just pity the fools who really believe she gives a damn about anyone but herself and her bank account.

  42. 42

I think it's hilarious that some people think that in a 'few' years Gaga will disappear. This won't happen. It can't, she is one of the most iconic figures on the planet, like it or not. Her fanbase (me included) are eternally loyal to her, so long as she has fans, she has a career, and as long as she is able to keep making music, she will be here.

Make all of the comparisons you like, every artist draws from inspiration, she has admitted she is a Madonna fan, get over it. Everything we see nowadays is recycled from the past, there is no such thing as originality any more. But Lady Gaga is so creative, yes she shocks people, but that is her hook. And guess what. It fucking works.

People love to hate what everyone loves. Gaga is awesome, she makes good music, not all the time, I can't really vouch for her ballads, but her fast-paced stuff is immense! All she does is tell people to love each other, she promotes equality and happiness. What is wrong with that?

Oh yeah, the cover is awesome. It kicks perfection, consumerism and technology in the face. It's so retro and different. Get over it!

    Love you MM x

Re: YoungTaurus – Good question. May sang chordal baritone on 'Killer Queen,' and used a regular baritone ukelele on 'Good Company', lol. All I could find on 'Bohemian Rhapsody' vocals was a bit on Roger Taylor who sang most sopranist voices including the high 'for me' at the end of the opera section; Mercury could also hit that note but Taylor was more appropriate for the sound they were looking for. May is capable of baritone, maybe more and sang lead on a lot of their tunes. There's a nice bit on May at Absolute Astronomy, topic home Brian May.

  44. 44

Re: @v@Re: YoungTaurus – It could've even been Freddie Mercury; he had a full, 7-octave range voice. May sang '39', which he'd wrote, along with many others, which seemed to be mid-range. But I'm wondering if this is Queen's 'You and I' (by their bassist, John Deacon (had the BIGgest crush on that guy, uh, still do), or if this song is written by Ms. Gaga, herself.

  45. 45

p.s. I hope the album art didn't cost Gaga too much. Seems like she/Haus of Gaga was going for a 'Diamond Dogs' kinda thing. This would earn a less-than-flattering grade in art school. Heck, I'd give her a Queen-worthy art job/cover for FREE.

  46. 46

Re: deranged revolutionary – Uh, yeah we have. That's sort of the point. She's saying, "Screw you, dear listener, if you want the music, you're going to have to look at this hideous cover because I have the power to make you do so."

  47. 47

I don't really care for her new stuff… really liked the just dance stuff etc.. I do think this cover art if cool (although it has nothing to do with being born any particular way) i just think perez trying to shove her down people's throats and push her on agenda on people all the time is killing her career.. perez if you were really her friend- youd back off a bit.

  48. 48

Brian May is much too talented to lower himself. Her music is crap pop. Queen was unique and timeless. No one will be listening to Gaga's music in a few years…too commercial in a negative way.

  49. 49

I too agree Brian May is just as good as Clapton or Beck. Of course no one is as good as Jimmy Page though.

  50. 50

im pretty sure this album cover is a joke, it has to be.

  51. 51

it is just me or this Reminds u of Xtina's Bionic Parts but not gaga's ugly face….

Re: weavermomo – It's not like May is too busy with new albums, and those older guys probably find it fun and flattering to be asked, and to mentor. It would be a side project for him, as apparently On 17 November 2007, Brian May was appointed Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University taking over from Cherie Blair, and installed in 2008. As far as he vs. Page goes, kind of apples and oranges. They're both extraordinary.

dont get your tampon salted. did i ask what u listen to? no. all i said was the majority of people out their are kids buying her stuff.
