More People Want Same Sex Marriages To Happen Than Ever!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikPollsLGBT

If you are someone running for political office in, oh lets just say, 2012, perhaps you might want to include the following graph in your intel.

The two lines you see on this chart represent two separate opinions - those in favor of same sex marriage being legalized and those who don't.

See that blue line that is vastly creeping upward? Yeah, that's the amount of people who want to see gay couples have the right to get married. See that red line nose-diving below the blue line? That's the amount of people who aren't so cool with it. It's not by much, but which stance has the higher percentage of public opinion in it's favor? Oh yeah, THE BLUE ONE!

Time to wise up, Washington! Your country is ready for a change. Get on board!

  2. 2

That's why California voted out Prop 8 because we want gay marriage……liar

    liar liar pants on fire…

Equality. Very simple. If you have rights that you think others don't deserve? Step off! Very simple.

  4. 4

This is AMERICA! We need EQUALITY for everyone! Come on people…make this happen!

  5. 5

The graph looks a little graphic to me… or maybe I just have a dirty mind. Personally, I don't give a crap who gets married, gay, straight, bi whatever, live your life.

is it me or is that chart incredibly phallic? with that said, gay marriage SHOULD be legal. it is ridiculous that it is not. we are all equal and should be treated as such.

    It looks like a dick.

Once again you fail to identify the polling organization from where this information was obtained. Without this important fact you once again fail miserably. Better luck next time Zippy.

it actually really bothers me that 1 in 2 americans oppose gay marriage. why the hell do people care what others do with their lives if it doesn't harm anyone? and what the hell ever happened to separation of church and state?

Re: Team Kim Richards – So your assertion is that only gay people support individual rights? Your stats seem like they may originate from the same vicinity as your opinion. And watch how you refer to "we" please.

  11. 11

Yay… but the rights of the minority shouldn't be dictated by the majority anyways… Just because the masses think one way doesn't make it right.

Re: penny1206 – I agree he should have included the sources: CNN, ABC, The Washington Post, The Associated Press, and the NCC have reported similar public opinion results.

  13. 13

    It's never going to happen.

Re: sidewaysfalling – That's becasue Perez drew it.

Re: meister – it does harm people. marriage is a union before God.

How are we suppose to raise our children before God when we allow things that go against the Bible.

why do gays need marriage?? if you already have civil unions??

that is the biggest question. you are already trying to own bullying.

Re: Team Kim Richards – The rights of the minority should not be decided by the majority. You sound like a bully.

Um, because not everyone believes in the Bible?

  19. 19

is anyone else wondering what happened in 2004 to cause the random spike of people opposing and the decline of people in favor?

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows a majority of Americans support gay marriage, adding more fuel to Democrats’ effort to repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act.

Fifty-three percent of those surveyed in the poll, released Friday, said gay marriage should be legal, marking the first time in that survey that a majority has backed gay marriage.

Only five years ago, the percentage of respondents who supported gay marriage stood at just 32 percent.

The poll is partially corroborated by a poll released earlier this week showing 51 percent of those surveyed opposed the Defense of Marriage Act. That poll, conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner and sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign, found 51 percent oppose a federal law that prohibits recognition of legally performed marriages, and 34 percent in favor of the law.

Re: Team Kim Richards – you do realize atheists can get married.

  22. 22

See that blue line that is vastly creeping upward?
    WTF? Vastly creeping?

  23. 23

Ahh so the majority want same sex marriage eh? Is that why California (the most gay friendly state in the nation) could not get prop 8 passed? Stfu with these fake biased studies.

Re: Team Kim Richards – I'm not christian! Why should i care about your beliefs over other people rights! Your fiction book (Bible) is against eating pork, being unfaithful and other stupid crap! No wonder Atheism is growing big time in the USA with fuck*ng christian trying to force people to live by your rules!
