You Got Something To Say About Twilight, R-Patz???

| Filed under: Film FlickersHarry PotterTwilightBusiness BlitzRobert Pattinson

rpatz makes swipes at twilight

Is this because Water for Elephants only made third place at the box office this weekend?

During a recent interview, Robert Pattinson spoke up about whether or not her preferred to do publicity for Water for Elephants as opposed to Twilight.

Here's what he had to say about it:

“I mean, I guess so, yeah. It’s nice to know, you know sometimes when you’re doing franchise movies it feels like the publicity is more important to the company than making the actual movie."

Unless he's referring to Harry Potter because of his role in Goblet of Fire, we're thinking he's probs taking a swipe at the Twilight saga.

We can see where he's coming from, but then again, the Twilight films HAVE treated him well. Might not be a bad idea for him to keep that in mind…

What do U think about R-Patz's comment? Does it sound like he's got a bone to pick with Twilight?

He should thank his lucky stars for "Twilight". Otherwise, he would most likely still be an unknown. The criticisms I've read over and over concerning "Water for Elephants" is that the two leads were horribly miscast.

  2. 2

He's not the strongest thing in the movie, but it's a very good movie, none the less. I suspect that the box office will build, too. Plus, last weekend was a family movie weekend, and WFE isn't a family movie.

He's just merely stating a fact. Any person, actor or not could see it"s true, there's movies that are made just to make money, how else could you explain half the mindless garbage that is out there?

I am surprised WFE didn't do better. It was a best selling book. Where were all the Twighlight fans and people who read the book? I think with movie prices, people listen more closely to critics now. There was no reviews from peridodicals, like People magazine etc… or other oultlets. It was also a bad weekend to release the film. People are vacationing or going to see kid movies.

Rob was not saying anything against Twilight. He is very grateful. He is just making a general comment about franchises which is true.

Water for Elephants did very well. It is the highest opening weekend for a drama this year. And Rob was really good. Actually most reviews were positive to mixed.

Stating a fact or an observation is NOT taking a swipe…grow the *&*&^^%* up!

he doesn't "have a bone to pick with Twilight." sounds like he just answered the question honestly! i'm sure he is grateful for that franchise putting him on the map but he has a valid point as well. geez! stop making something out of nothing perez. while i commend you for your efforts to stop bullying, maybe you should try a little harder sometimes and not be a 'shit starter'?

Back off Perez! He wasn't saying anything bad against either movie. He made a casual statement. Don't blow it up into something self serving.

I don't think he's putting down Twilight, he just doesn't seem to thoroughly enjoy pushing through the public. Give Rob a break! He's been working non-stop and has to go straight to publicity junket. He needs a break. As for Water for Elephants, the theater I went to was packed and erupted in applause. The movie is as good as the book. It however picked a bad weekend to premiere. I personally loved the movie .

I don't blame him he has to ready to move on. Maybe he is droping hints about the so called PR portion with Scummit as well..LOL!

This guy is sooo ungreatful. Twilight has opened doors for him otherwise wouldn't be opened if it wasn't for the Franchise and his fans. Shiloh who was up for the part Edward would have handled this situation with humbleness. Robs acting ability is still weak and all other movies he's done haven't done well in the box office! Now that the Twisaga is over, I expect Rob will be offered less work and he will become another Orlando Bloom. I will be there to laugh at him!

Re: Star32 – Get your facts straight. Rob has been very grateful for Twilight. And WFE is considered doing well at the box office success by The Hollywood Reporter, Los Angeles Times and Deadline. Get your facts straight.

I don't think he's trying to diss Twilight. I think he just realizes that his individual role in Twilight doesn't matter as much as his role in Water for Elephants. Because honestly, the Twilight franchise could replace him with another actor and most people would just accept it. They might bitch about it, but I assure you they'd still pay to go see the movie they "hate" as soon as it came out.
