Vintage iPads! Predicted In 1994!

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueTech Talk

Holy shiz! This is some Nostradamus shiz, right here!

Unbelievable!

Check out this old news report from 1994, focusing on a Knight Ridder think tank - comprised of journalists, designers, and researchers - who together constructed what they then called The Tablet Newspaper…AKA a portable computing device that will "weigh under two pounds" and have a display screen "comparable to ink on paper" that will "blend text, video, audio and graphics"…AKA an effing old-school iPad!

This is so, so wild! Check out The Vision of the Future (above)!

Do U think they had an Angry Birds game to procrastinate with back then?! LOLz!

lol how is a pucblic news report some Nostradamus shit. Its simply an idea that's always been on the back of designers minds. Just waiting for technology to become compact enough. You are so dumb Perez. This is not some new report from the year 1289 or something.

Hahaha! Are you freaking kidding me?! Of COURSE "things with Iraq and Libya" have been going on for years. Have you never heard of the Gulf War?! Y'know, early 90s…

This idea has been around for a LONG time. It's not like Apple came up with it themselves. The first tablet PC's were released in the early 90's I believe. Just like Achilles said, the concept has been around a long time, but we finally now have the technology to create something portable enough for people to want to use it. If you really thought the iPad was the first tablet, then you're a dumbass, Perez.

Funny thing is back then in 1993 there was an Apple called the Newton then followed by the Casio Z-7000 both an early form of "TABLET"

Makes sense, Perez. Steve Jobs didn't just wake up one morning and wave a magic wand and create an ipad. Like anything, it takes time.

I don't think it's all prophecy. Very wealthy connected people establish their buy-in positions on technology long before they take it to market. Some say tech behind the scenes is 50 years beyond what we know right now. I believe it.
