We were wondering when we would hear from you, Morrissey. Your dislike of the UK monarchy is fairly well known, so we knew it would only be a matter of time before you'd weigh in on the upcoming royal nuptials.
Three before Prince William is to take Kate Middleton as his and England's Princess, Morrissey is blasting the royal family, calling them "benefit scroungers." During his radio interview with BBC's Radio 5 Live this morning, he insisted the England could care less about the royal wedding and by extension, the whole royal family. He explained:
"I don't think the so-called royal family speak for England now and I don't think England needs them. I do seriously believe that they are benefit scroungers and nothing else. I don't believe they serve any purpose whatsoever…Go out now and speak to people on the street and they will laugh at you. They really will."
Riiiiiight. England could care less about this whole shindig. Sure. That's why people are already camped out in front of London's Westminster Abbey, right? That's why there's a freaking refrigerator with their faces on it, right?????
P.S. Be sure to watch Perez as he hosts with Nene Leakes "Will + Kate Forever," the only royal wedding special worth seeing, airing Friday, April 29th at 7pm/6c on Wedding Central and also at 9pm/8c on WE tv.
