Blake Shelton And Reba McEntire To Host Tornado Relief Concert

| Filed under: Music MinuteSad Sad

Blake and Reba Do Charity

First they hosted this year's ACM awards together, now the two are bonding again over a less happy event: the recent tornado disasters.

Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire are putting on a benefit concert to help those affected by the recent string of horrible storms and tornados. It's called the Tornado Relief Concert and it'll be at the Choctaw Even Center in Durant, Oklahoma on May 26th.

Here's what McEntire had to say:

"A lot of people lost a great deal in this disaster and it's particularly close to us because we both consider Oklahoma home. We wanted to do something and let the people in Oklahoma know that we love them and we're praying for them during this difficult tragedy."

Such a good cause, you guys!

If you're in the area and can spare the money and time, definitely go check out the show! So many people need your help!

Our hearts go out to those who have experienced loss!

Would have made a little more sense if they had gotten people from down here in Georgia or Alabama where it actually hit. Jason Aldean, Travis Tritt, etc.

I think the show was already scheduled they just turned it into a relief show and Oklahoma was hit a couple days or so before Georgia and Alabama.

I have lived a good portion of my life in the deep south. I grew up and was educated in OK and have lived in Haleyville, AL and Iuka, MS. These are decent people with strong values (even though, politically I may not agree). We need to come together as a nation and support all of the heroic efforts to help these wonderful people. I'm not a person of prayer, but must admit that I have actually prayed for the people so effected by this disaster. I used to drive through Phil Campbell, AL to go from my lake house to my residence and I always stopped at the fruit market across from the PigglyWiggly. I now live in a very different part of our wonderful country, but count my times in the south as vitial as to who I am as a senior citizen. Please keep these people in your prayers and give generously to the Red Cross and other organizations that are on their way to offer help. Not a religious person, but "GOD BLESS AMERICA".

Actually.. I am from Durant, Reba and Blake are both from around here.. and it makes sense that they would do a benefit concert for tornado relief efforts.. considering a tornado hit Tushka which isn't far from where both stars are from!
