BILLIONS Worldwide Tuned In To The Royal Wedding!!

| Filed under: TV NewsAnglophiliaRoyals RoyceKate Middleton

We knew the royal wedding was going to be huge, but this is incredible!!

Over 3 billion people watched William and Catherine, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, wed on Friday.

Viewers all over the world held parties and special events in honor of the festivities, with some fans staying up all night to celebrate in local bars.

In London, a million people lined the route of the royal procession. An additional 500,000 gathered in front of Buckingham Palace to watch the bride and groom kiss on the balcony.

Thankfully, Wills and Kate gave them quite a show with a double kiss!

Their big day became one of the most-watched TV broadcasts in the UK, with more than 24 million viewers tuning in.

As hoped, the royal wedding quite possibly brought in a "renewed era of optimism" for the country.

Spending the day celebrating, Natalie Hawkins of West Sussex remarked, "…Today has turned me into a total royalist."

That speaks for all of us!

With such an exciting and momentous occasion, it seems the world was absolutely smitten with the royal family on Friday.

So…did U watch the royal wedding??

I watched the royal wedding and I loved it! I have to say, they truly look in love… William and Kate kept giving each other "looks", they said a few words to each other here and there… such a difference between when in 1981 his mother married Prince Charles… poor Diana looked terrified, and there was nothing special to notice between her and Charles… but William and Kate, I have a feeling they are gonna be very happy together. All in all, a beautiful wedding, a beautiful day.

i didnt see it and i dont care about them. they just go married sheesh. its not like they ended world hunger!!!

  4. 4

    She is NO beauty!

  5. 5

Nice dress. Perfect choice. These two seem like a good match for each other. Congratulations to both! NOW GET UPSTAIRS AND START MAKING AN HEIR!!! har-dee-har har

Re: vampgirl1991 – Obviously you care about them enough to post under this…nice.

  7. 7

I think Catherine's gorgeous. She's a natural beauty! Barely any make up on and she looked stunning, same goes for her younger sister Pippa! It's so refreshing to see that, with Hollywood bombshells often being very fake. The wedding was really nice too! A lot of us have grown up watching the princes grow also and I'm sure many of us remember them at Princess Diana's funeral all those years ago and felt for them. I think whether you like them or not, you can still be happy for them.

  8. 8

I didn't see it. What's the big deal about this? They're just two humans getting married. I don't see anything too grand about this.

  9. 9

Of course people watched, it was on on every channel, no other options were available.

  10. 10

People like weddings, and this one was the most beautiful one I've ever seen. Loved it. Kate did great.

  11. 11

I camped out for 14 hours right outside Buckingham Palace to watch it- it was madness but absolutely amazing! We were lucky enough to see Kate on her way to the wedding, the Queen, and the entire parade on the way back-seeing them go by on the carriages surrounded by the Queen's Army was breathtaking..and then the entire Royal Family out on the balcony for the kiss(es)- what an adventure! AND seeing Anderson Cooper doing CNN reporting right behind us was a nice bonus!

Re: pinkmafia – Umm her face is always caked with make up… And you can tell.

  13. 13

Yawns, boring who cares. Diana was the real deal

  14. 14

Re: Matrix – Really, I guess I'm the only one who had no idea when they were getting married. Oh wait I guess alot of people had nothing else to do.lol

  15. 15

Re: Likeduhh – u kidding me? this is history! only william and kate's son can exceed this

  16. 16

Re: Andrew Boyd – omg!!! im so jealous!!! i wanted to go too! didnt have day off from my work

  17. 17

I didn't want to frickin watch it but it was on EVERY DAMN CHANNEL. Turned on the tv to watch the morning news, but oh no! Apparently, watching 2 people I couldn't care less about getting married is a bigger deal than everything else!

  18. 18

im probably the only one who didn't see it. lol i really wasn't interested in watching it. i just don't see what the big deal is? you know…lol kinda dumb if you ask me.

  19. 19

3 billion people is literally half the whole world. WOW!!!

  20. 20

ya only reason billions watched it cause thats all that was on TV!! I must admit tho…. it did put me to sleep better than any sleeping pill.

  21. 21

While the marriage itself wasn't anything I found interesting, I did enjoy seeing something that could bring a whole country together. Made me long for an event that would be as much celebrated in the US..(happily celebrated, not united in disaster)…

  22. 22

People are always looking for a reason to party. If that reason is two strangers, on another continent, getting married, so be it.

I'm not a fan of the royal family but it was a beautiful wedding and the happy couple seem very much in love.

  24. 24

with all that is going on in the world right now I think it was a welcome relief for people around the world to turn their TV on and see joy and love instead of devastation/despair/tragedy and natural/disasters/destruction/wars etc
and I for one enjoyed that fact
a little bit of fantasy now and again to help us tolerate the harsh reality of the world is a good thing!

  25. 25

I didn't watch it at all I saw pics since perez posts about them 24/7 now.. and I found the dress really ugly and a lot of other ugly outfits..I guess they just have different traditions I just didn't find it interesting or worth my time.

  27. 27

i'm totally neutral towards the royal family but it was a good day for people here in Britain - however i doubt some poor, bombed-out libyan war victim or some guy picking up pieces of his house across alabama was particularly smitten with our show of smug self gratification

  28. 28

Actually it was like forced on us. They had it on every freaking channel. Oh well…I'm over it now…Congrats to them and I wish them the best.

I have to agree with others I don't think sheis beauitful…she is very average looking.

It was wonderful to witness in its entirety. After those boys painfully lost their mother and we all saw them walking behind her casket, it was almost as though these two half orphaned boys belonged to the whole world. I think that's why it's so heartening to see him settle and find happiness with seemingly solid, loyal and sensible female married companionship. It will heal his heart.
    Harry's next, hehe.

  30. 30

Well at least I now know that over 3 billion people are brain dead idiotic retards with no lives.

  31. 31

Re: Tricia00 – this is actually history because England has a new princes. You should get an education you sound like you fell from a tree yesterday where did you go to school?

  32. 32

if other countries broad casted this shit like they did in the usa OF COURSE 3 billion tuned in whether they wanted to or not. I tuned in to check out her dress, next thing i know i wait for them to say i do etc. like W TF
also like 5 to 8 channels were broadcasting this crap. no way in HELL you can miss that. now its time to count down to the pregnancy, than the divorce. typical celebrity wedding than again part of me…….hopes they'll stay together, they look like they have good heads on their shoulders.

  33. 33

Re: Anabella Smart – actually, she isnt a princess. she is a duchess. just because you marry a Prince doesnt mean you become a princess. the Queen made them both Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. not Prince and Princess.

  34. 34

She looked so stunning. I think it's great that us British had such an event that literally brought the whole country together, some thing that is a true celebration of our British heritage and history. At the end of the day, people saying they couldn't help but watch it because it was on every channel, well, the Tv has an off button, just sayin'!
A great day that made me 100% proud to be British, and we don't have those too often.

  35. 35

Re: Anabella Smart – if you are going to insult people about their education, you should watch yours first. Because if you assumed that she is a princess by watching disney movies, she is not. You make yourself look ridiculous.

  36. 36

    Re: NookiesWA – agrees :)

  37. 37

Re: PixiePeet – She is absolutely stunning in the classiest way. It's called poise.

Re: NookiesWA – Yet here you are.

  39. 39

I watched! Woke up one minute before my alarm was set to go off so I knew I had to get up and watch. It was perfect. Beautiful from start to finish.
