Tim Osman" was the name assigned to him by the CIA for his tour of the U.S. and U.S. military bases, in search of political support and armaments.

It makes me sick to see how many there are that celebrates his death. Yeah, he was a SOB, and did deserve it. But stop to think about how this will affect his family and followers. They'll be pissed!!

    Eff Lily Allen.

Re: LiseH92 – Is is absolutely disheartening to think about the fact that we will have to be on alert now. And I understand how some of the 'celebrating' can seem inappropriate - but imagine the feeling of Justice that those directly or even indirectly related to 9/11 must feel knowing that he is gone. Is it better that he is dead and not captured alive? I don't know for sure. As far as I have read, there was a fire-fight so it may not have been the intention to kill him. But, I am glad that there is progress. And I am so unbelievably proud of our soldiers who have been fighting for this for the last 10 years. But whether we had captured him alive or dead, his followers will still undoubtedly be upset so we will need to take care - which the government is. I take comfort in knowing the 'mastermind' is gone though.

Re: LiseH92 – I agree. I can't imagine celebrating ANYONE'S death no matter how terrible that person may have been. My mouth was also agape but terrorism never dies. The only good from this is that Obama will now have more respect.

Re: LiseH92 – I agree. It is no loss to the world that this terrorist is dead, but I was dismayed to see the celebrations last night. This event should not be celebrated - instead it should signal a solemn relief, a reflection on those who have died by Bin Laden's actions, and most of all, continued vigilance in preparation for the retaliation from Bin Laden's followers that is sure to follow.

Is his death justice? Yes. But your enemy never thinks of himself or his cause as evil, and he was someone's husband, and father, and brother; someone on this planet loved him. So while I'm glad he got what he so richly deserved, I am taking a moment to reflect on how those closest to him feel.

I love how Obama is trying to take credit for this several days after showing people his suppose birth certificate.

sounds like a bunch of propaganda for running an new election. I don't believe he is really dead or he was dead a long time ago from kidney failure and the demos are just telling us now to make Obama look good for this next campaign.

Was very disappointed in Obama and how many times he said "I" in the speech last night. Like HE did everything and took total credit for the kill. That was really inappropriate of him. I know a lot of very young men out there everyday, working for this nation's service… and their families go to sleep every night, praying for them. Shame on Obama for trying to soak up all the credit

THANK YOU GEORGE W. BUSH and the BRAVE U.S MILITARY !! and obama for keeping the Bush mission alive! job well done GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!

I remain skeptical, the government is shady business. Who really knows whats up with Osama. Just saying, it's my opinion but I'm not out there celebrating his death because at the end of the day it really doesn't have much of an effect on me. I'm just a skeptical Susie.

  12. 12

LOL I also had the AMERICA FK YEAH! Song stuck in my head.. pour a little out for Osama… lol. Toast up its a celebration.. and hell id rather be drunk when they retaliate.. it wont hurt as bad… :(

A UK economy in decline & a US election coming up so we have a 'Royal wedding' & a 'dead Bin Laden' to pick up the morale. Suddenly every one is patriotic again proud to be British & American, forget the bigger picture. There has been no proof to say he's been captured or dead and conveniently he was buried at sea does none f this sound suspicious to all you celebrating idiots.

  14. 14

OBL dead…what a bittersweet moment. Do you "celebrate" this man's death or be afraid of what's to come? When one terrorist dies, another pops up to take his place. I have such mixed feelings about this whole thing.

  15. 15

Re: CLMspartan – I completely understand what you are saying and agree with you, but it scares me how this public celebration of his death can have such a fatal outcome. It only adds fuel to the fire.

  16. 16

An eye for an eye is the way to do things. He hurt ours, we hurt his. He kills ours, we kill his… end of story. It only took 10 years!!

  17. 17

    I love Lily Allen!
Re: LiseH92 – yeah I find celebrating death strange. It's fine to be glad a bad person is gone but there's something I find inherently disturbing about the idea of celebrating a death. Plus there is the fact there will be people out there wanting revenge.

  18. 18

Re: LiseH92 – There are certain circumstances when death should not be rejoiced, due to respect of human life and those who loved them. But this was a person who had no respect for human life. We have every right to rejoice. Whether we rejoice or not, his followers will be angry by his death and will do what they want regardless. So we may as well display our jubilance. We deserve it.

  19. 19

Uh Lily Allen, don't you have a public embarrassment you should be getting to? Hhaha Katy Perry. Don't like the girl but the Team America shout out was choice.

  20. 20

Re: patcee – It's one thing to be happy, it's a whole other thing to display it in such a public way when you know how dangerous it can be!! It's like certain people are just asking for trouble. In a way it feels like all those lost lives are forgotten, now that Bin Laden is dead.

  21. 21

katy perry is a dumb twat. And all you thanking george bush are even dumber

  22. 22

Re: Chooch – Amen to that! If Charles Manson still has a following, just imagine what Osama Bin Laden has left in his wake..10 years in hiding is a long time to plot, plan and organize. Be careful my American friends..don't shout victory too loudly for it will further anger the nutjobs plotting their strike. I worry for our Countries. After all, the U.S is our big brother and neighbor..this is not a happy or joyous occasion for many of us.

  23. 23

Re: CLMspartan – He was reported to have been shot in the head by a Navy Seal. They don't miss.

  24. 24

Re: BatchStoleMyID – I actually agree with you. It's amazing at how many people (the vast majority) are quickly brainwashed with anything the government/media tells them. I'm one of those who believes that 9-11 was staged from within (meaning: our own government knew about this) and that gave way for wars, instilling fear and paranoia in us, erecting a Police State all over the nation, and controlling the way we travel. This reminds of me the classic example of 'good cop, bad cop'. Osama is/was in on it with our own government so now we have the bad guy that hurt us, and now we also have the Good Ole Trustworthy American Government that's here to serve and protect us. What do they gain? The people's trust. It's much easier to control and manipulate someone when they trust in you.

    Re: Novel1

The reason he said "I" so much is because he is the President. He is not going to possibly endanger others by saying so-and-so did this. He was taking responsibility as a leader should. I'm a Canadian with no real interest in American politics, and I thought that his message was pretty clear.

  26. 26

Katy Perry… the twiter message was a bit contradictory, wasn't it? Cheering "fuck yeah" in one sentence, but then questioning if and eye for an eye is really the right thing to do? WTF? Make up your mind, chick!

  27. 27

Re: Novel1 – I totally agree that was the first thing I noticed in his speech

  28. 28

Re: Novel1 – He thanked all those including the military and intelligence agencies multiple times during that speech. He kept saying "I" because he is THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF… he is the one who gets the last word to attack or not…

  29. 29

Celebrities are such worthless garbage when it comes to commenting on anything important. Case in point: Lily Allen - yes, I get you are trying to make a joke about this as being the same day as your birthday, but have some effing respect for the American military and the people who died on 9/11. Your joke was lame and disrespectful.

  30. 30

what are you americans celebrating exactly?

it took you ten years to kill this guy. Sorry but thats incompetence not success. And Im sure his place as the real leader was taken by somebody else long ago so his death is not a victory against terrorism at all. In fact, it will probably encourage bigger and stronger attacks in retaliation.

but dont let the facts spoil your shallow deluded "success"

  31. 31

Katy perry was clearly being sarcastic for all you dumb twats who didnt get it. Like most she probably finds the gungho jingoistic victory fistpumping a bit crass and ignorant.

  32. 32

Re: scratchit – Amen, Just when I thought 98% of America's population was braindead retards. We spent 100+ billion dollars, lost around 10,000 troops allies included and it took 10 years..My god

  33. 33

Re: Novel1 – Agreed. I'm finding it somewhat hypocritical that so many liberals who are all about no death no war are happy that Bin Laden is dead. Am I the only one seeing the hypocrisy here? Personally I'm glad he's dead he got what he deserved

  34. 34

Americans disgust me. Bin Laden was a bad man but the people that your nation has killed in the war against were not.

‎"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that"

    — Martin Luther King Jr.

And Perez, you shouldn't say that the world is rejoicing .. you should say America is rejoicing while the rest of the world is thinking how stupid you are.

    Re: LiseH92
i totally agree!i was atching the news, with people celebrating and obama making the official announcement and all i could think was "wow, this guy just announced murder in tv and everybody is happy and excited about it!" i mean i get it,he was an evil SOB,but still..you don't celebrate death, especially in a such way
