Ugh, frustrating! When are we finally going to get to the bottom of this?
After months and months of preliminary hearings, Dr. Conrad Murray was finally poised to stand trial for the alleged manslaughter of Michael Jackson next week. Except, that's not going to happen, because the trial has been delayed until September.
Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor announced this morning that he was granting Murray's attorneys' request for the delay so that the team could prepare for new prosecution experts expected to be called as witnesses. The jurors have been released from their commitment (bet they're pleased) and opening statements will not be given until a new jury is selected, beginning September 8th.
So much for a speedy trial. At this rate, we'll get a verdict right around the time a new president is named… in 2016!
