And The Tony Nominations Are…

book of mormon tops tony noms

It's that time again, and it looks like Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is going to sweep this year! JK!

Okay, so maybe the doomed-from-the-start super hero production isn't getting any Tony love this year, but some other unorthodox choices have gotten some nominations this year.

The South Park creators' Book of Mormon topped the nominations with a whopping 14 noms! Wowsa!

Other notable mentions include The Scottsboro Boys with 12 noms and Anything Goes with 9.

Should be inneresting to see if Mormon dominates this year. We've def been hearing overwhelmingly positive things!

    Daniel Radcliffe was snubbed.

John Larroquette got nominated and Daniel Radcliffe didn't. This is a case of "everyone is going to think we nominated Daniel Radcliffe just because he is Harry Potter, so just to avoid controversy, let's nominate his musical a bunch of times". OK, maybe not, but it would be nice to hear that. Critics RAVED about Dan, and have said that John doesn't dance or sing as well as him either. Whatever, his musical got 8 Tony Nominations, that's nothing to laugh at. I mean, that's going to look really superb on his resume. Doing these plays on Broadway and the West End is going to ensure a long and successful career.
