How Did Party In The U.S.A. Become Osama Bin Laden's Official Funeral Song?
Because just like the majestic Bald Eagle that represents our country, the MileyBird's anthem - which celebrates freedom, excess, and having a good time - makes our spirits fly just as high!
After Osama bin Laden was killed by US forces after a ten-year hunt, the American public took to the expected social networking venues - Facebook, Twitter - to spout off celebratory cheers, confusion as to who the hell the terrorist even was (sad), and of course, some good ole' ignorant conspiracy theories (sadder).
However, it seems as though all of the aforementioned comments found themselves at ANOTHER, more unusual location - the YouTube page that hosts Miley Cyrus' music video for her single, Party In The USA!
Take a look, and you will find a VARIETY of engaging discussions, including:
Whether or not R.I.P. is an appropriate way to commemorate Osama's death
Crazy-ass conspiracy theories about Osama's death
"USA, USA" chants
Discussions regarding which male news anchors would or would not like to, ahem, party in the MileyBird's 'USA.'
Why the song was co-written by the British-born Jessie J, and how she may be the Tony Blair of the whole situation.
"LIKE THIS COMMENT IF WATCHING THIS VIDEO IS LITERALLY THE FIRST THING YOU DID AFTER YOU LEARNED OSAMA WAS DEAD."
A general consensus that the track was "the official funeral song of Osama bin Laden."
And if you haven't already, check out the music video (above)!
Okay, our first thoughts went to Captain America or the Team America: World Police theme song "America, Fuck Yeah!," but we're sold on this being the official anthem!
Whatever makes people feel more Patriotic and proud of their country is all right by us!
So, come on everyone! Nod that head, like yeah, move those hips, like yeah!
They're playing our song, we know it's gonna be okay! It's a party in the USA!

This is no time to celebrate but rather to reflect on what has happened. Americans were mocked when we were attacked, Muslim nations celebrated at our loss. Many Americans stand here today doing the same thing at the death of one man. I will continue to mourn for those who lost their lives on September 11, but I cannot rejoice at the death of one of our worst ennemies. It's hypocritical and downright dastardly. What will happen next?
Am I the only one that thinks "catching/killing" Osama bin Laden seems too timely?? Seriously… Obama was getting criticism for not doing anything.. and now all of a sudden this happens. Oh, the government works in wonderous ways…
I find it really disturbing to see people partying because Bin Laden is dead. Yes, it is a good thing, but it is not a cause for celebration. It should be a time to reflect on those he harmed and be relieved that he is stopped. I highly doubt that the families of his victims are partying.
We are disgusted when we see news reports from the Middle East that show celebrations when Americans are killed - seeing Americans celebrating the death of an enemy is no less distasteful. Aren't we better than that?
Yeah I'm finding this topic to b ea bit of a weird one. I know capital punishment still happens in the US (I'm from the UK) but I don't feel comfortable about the fact everyone is so happy that someone is dead. Life in prison / solitary confinement would be a better fit. An eye for an eye just leaves everybody blind.
I'm saddened by the american response to this murder. Humanity has clearly taken steps back.
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Martin Luther King Jr.
The Illuminati blogger can't handle the realists.
Likeduhh - that is 100% right. I'm not American, but it doesn't still scare the crap out of me as to whom will rise up to take his place and make their mark. I can understand the American celebrations though, living in fear for 10 years would not be fun. But I as Australian have waited for 10 years for something to happen (Thankfully, nothing really has)
As for conspiracy and the timing, god get a life things happen, get over it. We'll find out soon enough if he's lying or not. Killed or captured who cares? I'm not usually for capital punishment, but I can't help feel 5% relieved someone with so much hate isn't on our soil anymore.
But Perez should have more brains than to put this up and make Miley a target for them to start with.
Sigh, I hate conspiracy theories. I think these particular ones refer to themselves as "9/11 truthers." The most obnoxious kind of conspiracy theorist. Anyways, I still find it a little creepy that people are literally running through the streets rejoicing the death of Osama; acting like the world is now made out of cotton candy and rainbows. Don't get me wrong I'm glad he's dead and all, but this completely rubs me the wrong way. It's basically what those Westboro people always do, only difference is that this time it was for someone who deserved death (or rather lifelong imprisonment tbh). I just don't think it's appropriate, that's all.
As an American, I think it was horrible that they killed him. And why should we be happy? It's nothing to be happy about. That shows how power hungry we are if death satisfies us.
What is there to celebrate you fucking idiotic braindead sheep.
We spent 1 trillion dollars
10,000 soldiers US/Allied lost their lives
Even more came home limbless
We killed more civilians over there then that of the people lost in the terrorist attacks.
It took us 10 years.
Good job America! The real terrorist.
Okay, all you people saying it was terrible that we killed him…yeah, you have NO IDEA what it's like being a military wife who's husband is part of the fight against terrorism. Our troops gave him the opportunity to surrender & to show what a true clASS act he is he pulled his WIFE in front of him & used her as a shield. This kind of person has no reason to be left alive. We should be happy he's gone, but still take caution because the terrorists are still plotting.
Btw, Team America's theme would be my choice. Miley Cyrus is a joke. At least Trey Parker & Matt Stone were intentionally being funny.
Amazing, this is the first time I've ever seen a serious discussion at the Perez Hilton website where there were hardly any idiots saying over-the-top nonsense. It's good to see so many people are don't think an extra-judicial execution is something to celebrate in the streets. If Osama was guilty of the crimes he's been accused of–and yes, I personally think he was–he should have been arrested and put on trial. It would have been quite easy for the Navy Seal team to shell bin Laden's compound with sleeping gas, putting everybody inside out, but instead they went in with guns blazing. This is the same thing the AFT did in Waco. When will they learn. And for those who believe the story about bin Laden using his wife as a shield, I can only shake my head. That's just CIA standard operating procedure to make up lies to make their executions seem more sympathetic. Anyone who's ever studied the CIA M.O. could tell you they always plant lies like that one in the aftermath of one of their illegal extra-judicial executions.
People celebrating death and destruction in the streets only shows that Bin Laden ultimately succeeded. America has been so afraid of terrorism that we haven't noticed that we're destroying the country from the inside.
celebrating such distinction by watching Miley's video? hm…
How ironic the song was written by Jesse J..
You're an ignorant moron and a fool.
This song only shows the rest of the world what trash we are.
Re: Andrew Sween – Couldn't have said it better.
Disgusting!
Conspiracy Theories are often proven to be true. Why don't you try being a responsible "journalist" and check them out? Do some research and instead of just passing it off as crap, learn something.
It was a party in the USA! I have not seen people in the USA be so happy since the moon landing or President Obama being elected.
