No Prenup For The Royal Couple!

| Filed under: AnglophiliaRoyals RoyceLegal MattersLove LineKate Middleton

kate and william did not sign a prenup

Looks like they're 100% confident that it's true love!

It's been officially confirmed that Kate and William did NOT sign a prenuptial agreement before the royal wedding.

Here's what a source had to say about it:

"For him to refuse, it would have had to have been suggested to him by someone and it was not. There is no prenuptial agreement in place for this wedding."

And here's what Princess Diana's former private secretary Patrick Jephson had to say about a royal prenup:

"If [Kate] was my sister, I’d tell her to get a good prenup. Kate’s not just going into a marriage, she’s going into a business."

We certainly think that a prenup is generally a good idea, but we'll admit that the lack of one def adds to the romance that's been characteristic of the royal wedding every step of the way!

We continue to wish Kate and William all the best with their marriage. As we've said before, we've got a good feeling about them.

Do U think Kate and William should have signed a prenup?

Prenuptial agreements are not legally binding in the UK.

I've always wondered if she just married for money. :/ No prenup is gonna suck if things go sour.

  3. 3

Nope! She won't need one. If they divorce, it won't matter. The media would pay her to do anything.

Pre-nups are often a mistake. Depending on the laws in your country or state, you can protect your pre-existing assets with trusts, or simply by keeping separate accounts. A pre-nup is a bad way to start a marriage and raises your chance of divorce. Were they to divorce, Kate would get a reasonable settlement based on years married, and it wouldn't make a dent in the Windsor family fortune. They've been through it several times before.

If they do get divorced I highly doubt that she's going to get 1/2 of everything he owns….LOL

On paper, he is probably "poorer" than every one of you. There is not one asset in his name. What is his name? How does he sign anything? Oh, and get the fuck out of Ireland.

Pre-nups are not legally binding in the UK! Do your research!

How can they be so sure ….

Re: Starflower11 – They've been together since 2002. I'm sure William would have smelled a rat by now.

not my marriage, not my business

No need for a prenup. In case of divorce, they'd just kill her anyway.

Since her family is worth about $50M and he is worth approximately $0, id say that this is a non story. Neither of them have jobs that pay. Neither of them contribute to their lifestyle and all of William's future assets were aquired (conquered) prior to them marrying.

When Diana and Charles divorced, she got $25M which was at the time the entirety of his personal fortune, and he had to borrow that from Mummy because he was completely broke.

Besides, prenups are completely legal in England, just not enforcable, so whats the point.

I have noticed about a year ago, you used to get like 50-100 posts per story, now it looks as if its down to about 10. Nice job.

Wills said in the vows, "I share all my worldly possessions."

  14. 14

If you don't want to share your life (this means everything involved in your life) with someone, then don't marry them!

  15. 15

For some reason I don't think Kate needs their money. Her parents are very wealthy.

If Heaven forbid there's a divorce, Kate will be set for life. She'll get millions from Prince William as a settlement, no fear about that.
