Choo, choo, cha-ching! Conductor Ryan Murphy is riding this money train right into Gold Mine Junction!
For those of you who won't be lucky enough to catch the Glee kids on tour when it kicks off in two weeks, don't be a sad little panda a la Brittany S. Pierce. You'll still get to experience the magic for yourself - and in 3D!
FOX has just announced that they will be producing GLEE LIVE! 3D!, a feature film based on the Glee Live! In Concert! North American tour. (So many exclamations!!! Our kind of movie!!!)
The studio will release the concert flick, which will feature live performances as well as behind-the-scenes moments, for a two-week engagement starting Aug. 12. No word yet which stop along the tour will get the honor of being documented for Gleeky posterity, but just the fact that it is happening should be enough for all you rabid fans to start foaming at the mouth with utter jubilation.
This worked for Michael Jackson. It worked for Miley Cyrus. Hell, our ears are still ringing from when we saw Justin Bieber's Never Say Never at a random Tuesday matinee 3 months ago. This will definitely do VERY well at the box-office.
So start saving your pennies now, Gleeks. By Christmas, it will be out on DVD and you'll want to make sure you've got a 3D capable flat-screen in your room to fully enjoy it. Sure, you might not go on a summer vacation or buy a lunch at school for 4 months - but isn't Glee worth it???
