HIS COMMENTS WEREN'T HOMOPHOBIC.. Stop Perez, you Lady GaGa video-leaking you ;)
Now I'm offended that he doesn't know the difference between there and their.

  2. 2

Perez, Blake saying that is the same as any gay man saying they wouldn't want a woman to touch their hiney, because they aren't straight. Stop spreading hate with your double standard - are you straightphobic??

  3. 3

That is not homophobic. People need to lighten up. He does not say anything about hating gays at all. Just about being touched inappropriately. Not sure why so many people try to make something out of nothing.

  4. 4

ha damn it thats what i was going to say

he needs to first learn the difference b/n there and their

  5. 5

Gay agenda, gay agenda, gay agenda!!!

  6. 6

Are you fuckin joking me?!? This poor man!

  7. 7

Fair enough. Time to move on.

  8. 8

No, he was not being homophobic. He says now that he re-wrote the lyrics in Shania's voice, not his. I tend to believe him, because when you look at the actual words he wrote, it doesn't mention anything gay. Now, I've never heard the song or of this Shelton guy, but I think it really was just a poor choice of words. If anything, he should have said in the tweet that what he was about to say was from a female's view, not a man's view. I really think that GLAAD jumped the gun on this one. But yes, celebs, THINK before you TWEET!

  9. 9

On yea douche bag… he should really be worried that YOU have your eye on him. You're so fucking arrogant… it's amazing.

  10. 10

This is so not homophobic, I'm gay, and I don't find it at all homophobic, people are too quick to jump the gun, I don't really know who this guy is.

We're in a society where so many things are done and because we're in the middle of a revolution ANYTHING that could be remotely considered a guy not wanting to be with a guy, it's homophobic…

What about songs where girls beat guys, kicking them to the curb etc. And it's fine, but ugh I can't even justify this because it's SO obviously not homophobic!!!!!

  11. 11

Nothing wrong with his comments. Little fairies shouldn't be allowed to get away with inappropriate touching. I would punch a dude that grabbed my ass.

  12. 12

This seriously pisses me off. Save the drama for someone who is actually offensive and homophobic and leave this poor man alone

  13. 13

Ugh! GLAAD is so sensitive! No one can say anything about their precious gays w/o them jumping on them like crackheads! Get over your-freaking-selves! You're no more special than anybody else which makes you fair game for sarcasm! You want people to treat you equally, learn to take a joke!

    14

Anyone who thinks that was homophobic is an IDIOT!!!!! I am a straight female and I would say the same thing about any guy who tried to grab my butt. I would beat the shit out of them.

  15. 15

His bad grammar and english skills are offensive.
I hope he burns in a deep frying machine.

Re: scoochamenz – "No, he was not being homophobic. He says now that he re-wrote the lyrics in Shania's voice, not his."
^^This was exactly what I thought when I read the tweet. I don't know how someone could take it as homophobic when he starts the tweet with "Re-writing my fav Shania Twain song".

  17. 17

Who wants someone grabbing their ass without permission, If I was sexually assaulted you can bed I'd take a swing, gay or straight

    18

Perez you've becoming beyond annoying and hypocritical with this homophobic nonsense. STFU already!!! You're the one that's making the Gay issue continually an issue, bringing up every single thing someone has said or done and trying to analyze it with your puny brain. Give it a rest, have a sense of a humour and just stop bringing up all these non-issues. You're making minor things into something and creating a problem when there shouldn't be one.

  19. 19

agree. it's as though with everyone's care not to be at all, even a little, homophobic, GLAAD expects straight people to stop acting straight… it's not as though he said "any gay man who approaches me is going to get beaten, straight up". if he ever does, i will happily speak out against it. otherwise, it's just a joke.

I watched The Voice Tuesday for the first time and honestly I think he seems rather full of himself. And I think Miranda Lambert seems full of herself. I think both of them need to drop the pretentious attitudes. We are all human beings. Glad you both made it big, but please get over yourselves already. Not impressive. Adam Levine also seems kind of an ass. Cee-Lo and Christina both seem pretty cool. Anyways…..

  21. 21

    Re: sockie

    Stupid cun*t! Stupid cun*t! Stupid cun*t!

  22. 22

Perez Hilton is much more damaging to our community than some random comments.

  23. 23

If the rules were reversed and a gay person sang it against a straight they wouldn't catch flack. Double standard. He was not being homophobic at all.

  24. 24

When did everyone get to be so sensitive over this stupid crap? The very first line explains it all. I guess it's selective reading now. And Perez or whoever is writing this for you, you act like someone really cares about your opinion. Like keeping your eye open about homophobic slurs is really going to stop it. OOOOOOOO Perez is watching, I'm sure he's scared now . Give me a break!!!

  25. 25

But, It's okay for you (Perez) to make hurtful comments about others!! Get over IT!!

  26. 26

I don't think he is a big fan of Pres. Obama like most Hollywood stars are, therefore, I don't respect him.

  27. 27

It sounded to me like he was concerned about being the victim of rape, which is a crime and a horrible one. Gay on straight rape sounds like a very real thing. Poor Blake…I blame the Glee kid.

  28. 28

Perez Hilton is much more damaging to our Gay/Lesbian community than Blake Shelton.

  29. 29

Maybe those weren't directed AT GLBT people. I am so sick of all this PC crap.
Tired of everyone havng to watch every single word they say just because SOMEone might read more into it than is mean't.

  30. 30

if this hysterical, pity me reaction is really representitive of the gay community then its time to bring back hitler! stat!

  31. 31

Wow, that's ridiculous. Did anyone stop to think that he's a southerner? Perhaps he's just saying "behind" in the proverbial sense and not as in his actual butt. And anyway, even if he meant to say that he doesn't want a man touching his butt, what's wrong with that? He's straight and doesn't want a dude touching his ass, is that so wrong? All of this politically correct nonsense is going way too far these days.

  32. 32

His comments were in NO way HOMOPHOBIC…Give me a f'n break dude. You go way out of your way to look for sh=t that's not even there

  33. 33

I don't blame the guy, however who is he? And the only thing he's guilty of is being a complete tool. Anyway….
    -rant begin part one-
GLAAD REALLY needs to start putting their efforts into things that really matter to the community. The only reason those morons jump on garbage like this, in this case convicting someone before a plausible response/defense is aired, is the same reason Paris Hilton stops and looks at herself in a Rodeo Drive window every ten feet. All of the GLAAD upper echelon need be fired/canned/let go/voted off. They do nothing for anyone with the exception of using their megaphone on people like this, all to be apart of celebu-drama. Nothing more, nothing less. They should be ashamed. Shoot, you'd NEVER think I would say this, but Mario should lead that friggin' outfit of jump-the-gun-drama-lords because my gut tells me that, at bare minumum, Mario would go after the shit that matters and not only be heard from when they know they'll make a headline along side some celeb. They really need to fully restructure. People are getting bored of this crap. Yes, we see the soap box. We see you standing on it. Public opinion, not GLAADS opinion, of any PC offenders will prevail. Your goal
    -rant end part one-

  34. 34

    -rant begin part two-
isn't to make "offenders" apologize and send them to their bedrooms without getting dessert ffs. People with a more than a brain cell will write these people off, they don't need you and your megaphone playing hall monitor at every pass for every celebrity. Use that time and energy you place in those press releases and, in your case, "Twits", and stay with the program. The ONLY time I ever hear/read about GLAAD is when they're playing the 'gotchya' game. It isn't educating anyone. It isn't changing the opinions people have on the community one iota. And that kind of gotchya game never will. The only thing it does is make a few dull knives in the kitchen watch what they say every second. You should, however, LET them say that garbage. The public WILL crucify them in their own way, they don't need you and your 5-colored-sword-of-spanking to tell them that what was said is unacceptable. They already know that. And I'm sure you, GLAAD, agrees with that, thus proving that the only reason you do it is to see your name in the headlines so you can pat eachother on the back…for what? Nothing. Exactly. You've accomplished nothing by wasting time on this tool. As have I by writing this.
-rant end - praise Captain Crunch-

  35. 35

Re: stopbeingsoanti-straight – THANK YOU. That is exactly what I've been trying to say but couldn't find the words because I was so irritated at Perez for being such a homonazi.

  36. 36

The current heads of GLAAD are setting the organization back 40 years. Back when they were picketing in front of their own office on Highland Ave.

  37. 37

hes not homophobic youre just an idiot.

  38. 38

Re: Samuel Cuevas – damn, couldn't have said it better myself.

  39. 39

OMG people need to just stop with this stupid stuff and get a sense of humor. I as a gay man laughed at his tweet and all the others and if you watch him on tv or interviews, Blake has the biggest heart and a dry sense of humor. GLAAD and the LGBT need to focus on other stuff, they are getting just as bad as PETA. WHy arent they going after Gaga who wears horns on her head and sings songs about Judas and yet be priased for supporting the community.

  40. 40

He is not homophobic, he is funny! Anyone that thinks he is serious needs to have their head examined. If Blake were homophobic or violent, trust me……..he wouldn't be afraid to own it. He's handsome, has a great sense of humor and is not afraid to poke fun at something most people would be afraid to touch with a ten foot pole. My kind of guy!

  41. 41

And gays wonder why they don't have rights like everyone else. Shit like this right here. A bunch of freaking cry babies!! I think they just like talking so they can hear their own voice. Get the eff over it!!

  42. 42

Re: adg100 – Exactly, GLAAD is the new PETA. Starting shit for no reason what so ever…

  43. 43

GLADD needs to knock it off and stop jumping on anyone who says or does anything that could be remotely construed as "homophobic". It backfired on the blacks when they started pulling the race card at every turn, and it is back firing on the gays. There will always be some people who don't like gays and will make fun of them, but almost everyone hates a whining pansy, no matter who you are. Displaying hypersensitivity is a sure fire way not to be taken seriously and dismissed.

  44. 44

we all know he is gay in denial the ones who claim to hate gays are the ones in denial

  45. 45

Would you stop saying "we", dirtbag…

Why are so many gays so fucking offended about something that was said over the internet, this is why people overreact…because it's over the internet.

If you actually heard his say what he tweeted in person and sounded insulting, then you can say something.

  46. 46

My God! What the hell is wrong with you!? Must you connect everything in the external world to your own subjective gay agenda?

  47. 47

Re: J Live – Oh my god! That was funny! But I really hope you were being sarcastic (the only reason I laughed). lol

  48. 48

GLAAD should refrain from pulling the trigger on every minor misunderstood tweet, interview, picture, email, blah blah blah… Quite honestly people who are really Homophobic, bigoted, sexist pigs are typically pretty careful about who they voice their "real" opinions too. For the rest of us normal, open minded individuals who just want to live and let live, please give it a rest. You are actually alienating the people who have no issues, and further entrenching the ideas of the close minded minority. Stop being so fucking sensitive and roll up yourselves and do something useful.

  49. 49

ur oversensitivity is truly troublesome…i wud slap down anyone, gay or str8 who touched my ass without my permission…and i bet u wud 2….

  50. 50

I AM not a shelton fan. I do not like homophobics. I HATE WITCH hunts…… WTF is this GLAAD perez BULLIES. Way to set the gays back

  51. 51

That is SO obviously not what he meant. And by the way, even if it WAS he has a right to say what he wants without being jumped on written right into that little thing called the Constitution.

  52. 52

You guys have missed the point of his "new lyrics" ENTIRELY. He was speaking from Shania's perspective, having watched her on Oprah. He was not writing it as though HE was saying it. Damn people…READ!

  53. 53

Not homophobic. I thought it was amusing.

  54. 54

"we'll keep an eye open"..meaning, if he says anything that you can put your panties up your ass with, then we'll be the first to hear you overreact. I love how he has to apologize everytime people get too sensitive.

  55. 55

He was stating that he's basically not gay and anyone that wants to be gay with him is gonna get his ass beat. I don't understand, now just because you're not gay that makes you homophobic now?? Did I miss something? People are too sensitive

  56. 56

Your such a fucking idiot Mario. You've said/written worse!!

  57. 57

If "it wasn't honestly even meant that way", what way DID he mean it? There's pretty much only one way of meaning it. So I'm curious, is there a friendly non-abusive way to leave someone "beaten, heaving, bleeding"? I don't speak redneck bigot so maybe it means something different than what it means to intelligent people.

  58. 58

Wait…what's wrong with what he wrote? There's nothing homophobic about that at all! If it's anything other than funny/kind of dumb/just for laughs, it's anti-sexual assault! Come on GLAAD, you must realize there are bigger fish to fry? Blake Shelton rules.

  59. 59

Re: phalen208 – "When did everyone get to be so sensitive over this stupid crap?"
I think it was when Matthew Shepard was murdered by two punks that tried to make the claim that Matt touched them so left him "beaten, bleeding and heaving" and dead on a fence outside of Laramie, Wyoming.

  60. 60

    Perez you area tool.
    Blake loves the gay's.

  61. 61

Re: WigGuy – No, because just as you arent accepting of his views (even if he was being homophobic), there are people that arent accepting of someone elses views. Don't think your better than anyone else. Black people used to be killed, indians used to be killed, and so did every other race/gender/etc. You cannot put history on one persons comment that was harmless..especially compared to some of the things that go on these days. It just needs one crazy person with crazy views to ruin freedom of speech for people. If he is homophobic or racist, or anything, so what? Because I do not have a problem with people's views, its when unhinged people act on their own views.

  62. @v@ says – reply to this

    62

Performers fly a lot, so he wasn't talking about going through security?

  63. 63

This is RIDICULOUS! I read the tweet & didn't even consider that it was about men! This was a JOKE - from the WOMAN'S perspective!

  64. 64

shut up and stop crying. he's not homophobic. you take things to serious. he was JOKING

  65. 65

This isn't the first time he has made gay slurs. At whatever country awards show he hosted, he made basically called Jake Gyllenhaal gay. Something about him starring in Brokeback Mountain being a reason why he would break up with Taylor Swift. I'm not shocked that he made another homophobic "joke."

  66. 66

Look for a real villain? You mean someone who gives someone else the idea to beat someone senseless if you touch their backside. And apparently all his fans on here are just as classy. Advocating violence.. Classy.

  67. 67

It was meant to be funny and it was. I find the shit your hero Gaga puts out way more offensive than anythig Blake Shelton could ever say or do. Quit whining about every tiny little thing people say that doesn't worship gays. Being equal means being the butt of jokes just like everybody else. You don't want equal treatment you want special trearment.

  68. 68

Re: zobiana – So you advocate sexual harassment? Because inappropriate touching is harassment when he does not want it. It was suppose to be a joke, take the stick out of your ass.

  69. 69

Re: Samuel Cuevas – totally agree with u.

  70. 70

ugh! Freakin' gays. Some of he worst things concerning judgment toward people have come out of gay peoples mouths. I am a straight hairdresser and for the past 20 years have watched gay men talk shit about people and accuse people of being gay in front of others when they weren't. I've watched them say horrendous things about clients behind their backs and even awkwardly come on to straight men in the salon. The only difference is that us straights don't cry about it like the gay community does. Grow some freakin' balls already or shut up!!! Double standard.

  71. 71

There is nothing wrong with writing about defending yourself after being touched inappropriately. Especially given the context was joke. Obviously, his real fans know that he'll say outrageous things (and it's part of why we love him), but if people are freaking out over that one tweet, he's right. they do need to look elsewhere for a real villain. He's been doing those joke song rewrites for ages. You still say far more hurtful things, Perez.

  72. 72

Oh wow, really? Everyone in the U.S. is so sensitive! No one can make a statement without getting backlash from everyone! It's absolutely ridiculous.

    Lighten up.

  73. 73

you are kidding me…right? what the eff is homophobic about saying if a man touches your ass & u don't like it, you'll beat him down? so in this gay agenda salem witch trial world you are creating, if someone of the same sex touches me & i don't like it & warn them not to do so…I'M HOMOPHOBIC???? you're insane, and anyone that agrees with you is bat-shit-crazy too! i am so tired of this overly sensitive bullshit, losing respect for the gay community every time i see one of these bullshit complaints….wanna be a respected member of society & be taken seriously? GROW A SET, QUIT BITCHING ABOUT EVERY LITTLE THING, STOP IT ALREADY!!!! JESUS CHRIST U ARE TOO MUCH!!!!
here's my apology..i am sorry you are a prissy little bitch!

  74. 74

Well fucking said Blake! I'm liking this site less and less every day…Get over yourself people, quit looking for a reason to complain and get some attention. There are real bullies out there and Blake isn't one of them.

  75. 75

on towleroad.com they released the rest of his tweets… and of course he whined about reading his "anti gay hate tweets". so that's not really an apology to me.

  76. 76

Perez, you're such an asshole. "We'll def keep an eye open"? What the fuck is wrong with you? You know what, I would beat a guy to a pulp if he grabbed my ass, too. Does that make me heterophobic? Are you going to keep an eye open for me too? I'm all for the gays, but you sometimes make me regret that.

  77. 77

Re: MsOverstreet – how often do gay people make you regret all the support you give them… thanks for nothing.

  78. 78

Re: That Cat – yeah how dare gay people the worst people in the world are gay people how dare we get mad at anyone… ugh

  79. 79

ugh i sign in and read a few comments and it ruins the rest of my night. i need to leave. it's a lovely feeling discovering the world is more homophobic than you thought it was earlier in the day…

  80. 80

I'm a gay man who has been friends with Blake since i was 17 years old, and 16 years later, he is still fantastic person and truly loves everyone, he is absolutely not homophobic.

  81. 81

Yeah.. there is nothing homophobic about this …. i think you just look for anything that can be misinterpreted as hateful toward gays. It refers to unwanted body contact….. i don't see the problem.

  82. 82

What the actual fuck? Since when is it homophobic to not want to be touched against one's will?

  83. 83

Ok, Blake is AWESOME and the LGBT community needs to get a hobby. All they do is bully anyone who even so much as jokes about anything remotely related to being sort of homosexual. They are highly oversensitive and all they ever do is try to rally people to their cause, their agenda.

  84. 84

i wish i knew who this moron was or owned his cd's so i could burn them. who is he anyway? has ANYone ever heard of him? i doubt it.
oh well, take a deep breath bman. he is inconsequential.
