Jodi Foster Still Wants Us To Love Mel Gibson

And we're like, "eh."

Jodi Foster and Mel Gibson's new movie, The Beaver is out in theaters this Friday, so naturally, the two are doing a lot of press to promote the film. And by the two of them, we mean Jodi is doing all the promoting while Mel deals with his personal life that has been in utter shambles for the better part of the last two years.

Still, though he's left her in the lurch on the promotional trail, Jodi has nothing by nice things to say about him. She insists that working with Mel on the movie was "amazing" and adds:

"I think it's no secret that he's really one of the most loved people in the business, professionally."

Yeah, tell that to the cast of The Hangover II. They might disagree with you.

Save your breath, Jo. His time has come and gone and will only come again AFTER he's settled things with the ex-lover. If he's after redemption, he'll have to wait a bit longer to get it.

I will never watch a movie for free even with him in it. I certainly won't pay to see one. His time is up. He's not a nice person.

Thank you for that summary, God…oh, I mean Mario. Are you now the judge, jury and executioner of Mel?

Well they sure aren't doing a very good job at promoting it since I hadn't even heard it was being released tomorrow! I haven't seen a single commercial or preview for it at all. Either way I sure as hell wouldn't see it or anything with Mel Gibson in it. He is a vile human being and just needs to fade away in obscurity same with Charlie Sheen. Both of them are disgusting.

That's a load of bullshit. He is not much loved in the business. He was secretly disliked by many many many in Hollywood and now, he is openly disliked by many many many more.

How many Oscars does a woman have to win before you can spell her name correctly? HMMM? HMMM???? Jeez. Why not write "Merrill" (sic) Streep or "Helaine" (sic) Mirren or "Kait" (sic) Winslet?

    Foster's first name is Jodie.

Re: Lane Browning – Actually, Perez is right. It's Jodi, no e. But thanks for coming out.

I saw this movie…I was in the first live audience to see it during this years sxsw in austin. we even saw jodi foster when she took the Q & A part after the show!!! it was pretty cool. I thought the movie was interesting and mel gibson did a pretty good job in the role. That's just my opinion…its def not for everyone but I liked it.

Ive heard good things about will see it this weekend. And given how much of Oksana's version of things has flaked apart, I dont think hes probably any worse than most of the Hollywood bigwigs.

poor jodie. she's got great talent, and has involved a good friend in a movie. unfortunately, and with good reason, many people no longer feel that way about mel (sure loved him in mad max & braveheart).

Never hate.Just love. Many famous man committed mistakes in their life, but because somebody loves them, mistakes are forgiven, although not thoroughly forgotten.People learn from their mistakes, and once they knew, they would never commit the same mistakes again.Just as when God forgives us,so do we forgive others…and behold…everything is new again! The past is erased.Peace!

I *get* that someone is your friend… but I can't say I would EVER everevereverever… stick up for ANY man… who hit a woman. Period. End of story. And now, I'm kind of offended that Ms. Foster did. (Yes, more than when I saw "Nell"… ha!)

I heard positive reviews, I probably will buy a ticket to see it.

Cant wait to go to the theater to see this! It has had raving reviews by those who've already viewed it. And cited as one of Mels best performances to date. All that PLUS an original idea, without all the B.S. gratuitus t*t shots, or C.G.I.?! Wha, wha, what..!
I'll certainly show my support at the box office.
and on a side note.. now I remember WHY I stopped coming to this site, I noticed it had been 5 or 6 months between my comments on here Perez, it's because YOU project YOUR opinion way too heavily where it is UN-Needed. (like in Mel Gibson stories!) What happened to him was private and personal, it was NO ones business, he got duped by a russian hooker, who went FAR beyond the parameters to attempt to ruin Mels ENTIRE life because she couldn't get her hands on "ICON" money, and he refused to marry her. I.N.S. is looking to deport her now that her involvedment with all the criminal activity is being exposed. SHE'S a criminal, the D.A. Cooley just cant prosecute it because WAY bigger fish will HAVE to fry if he brings charges up on her. So she's going to lose custody to MEL, then they will deport her.. all nice and quiet like. (you'll see) The Karma Train finally making it's way back into the station too bad for Oksana it's only taking ONE passenger with it this time - and it's HER!
