Oh get off your high horse and kiss my ass, Perez! If anything, the relationship and education issues that these girls on this show have probably steer other teens away from teen pregnancy. ALSO, do you really think girls are going out and getting pregnant JUST to get on this show? Somehow I really doubt it.

  2. 2

can't stand this show or 16 and pregnant. It glorifies the issue of teen pregnancy which they say is at its lowest rate in 2 decades, but somehow I think that's a big lie. Every girl that I know that likes this show is now pregnant or has a little one.

  3. 3

Re: BlahBlahBlah3009 – actaully, if you look some stuff up, alot of girls do get pregnant in hopes of JUST being on the show or ones like it.

  4. 4

ACTUALLY if you look some stuff up, you'll find that since these shows have aired, the teen pregnancy rate has gone DOWN.

For thos of you saying it glorifyies it, have you even watched the show? More then a few minutes?

Perez, if someone spewed the same prejudice shit about gays you'd have a shit fit. You're horrible.

  5. 5

Also, if you disagree with the show so much, stop covering it. Do you enjoy trashing things THAT much?

Re: moffinwonderland – Agreed, when teens see the lives these kids have change their views on unprotected sex.
Unfortunately though these shows only focus on girls , boys should take half the responsibility instead of a free pass on the whole pregnancy thing , it's wrong just to blame girls , boys should be educated too as much as the girls if not more !!

    Re: ParalyZzzZzer
yeh i see what ur saying, there is actually a lot of focus on the girls..like its solely the girls responsibility.

i think its dangerous that these girls are being treated as celebrities- other girls want that too and see this as a easy way to achieve it. If they r dumb enough to have sex without any protection, this probably sounds like a master plan to fame. sure, they show the down sides of getting pregnant at 16, but either way its still glorified. they need to have more focus on how not to get pregnant, more realistic info.

are you kidding me? how the hell does it GLORIFY teen pregnancy when all it shows are these girls STRUGGLING to keep it together? if ANYTHING i know people who watch the show who are now EXTRA careful ever since it came out. yes there are, of course, a few bad apples here and there but there is for everyone. but you would say that perez.

  9. 9

Perez, seriously. You are doing so well not bullying but I think your treatment of these girls is atrocious and at times rather sexist. Please stop and look at what you're saying. All of your judgement of teenage girls is completely disgusting.

  10. 10

This show in no way, shape or form glorifies teen pregnancy. It shows how difficult it is to be a teen mom, and girls who watch the show recognize it. These shows are actually helping teen pregnancy rates decline… and if you make the "some girls get pregnant for the show" argument, well some people are just fucking crazy. Stop criticizing this show if you've never seen it. It shows teen pregnancy for what it really is.

  11. 11

Wow, what a judgmental bully you are! Yes, these girls got pregnant young but without knowing the entire situations, no one is fit to pass judgment on these girls and boys and their families who are trying to make what they feel is the right decision in keeping/raising or placing their children up for adoption. Attitudes like yours are dangerous because they make girls like these afraid to tell their parents or anyone they are, in fact, pregnant and less likely to seek medical care when they keep quiet.

It glorifies NOTHING. You see these girls with deadbeat fathers or parents who aren't supportive or struggling to go to school and take care of their babies and even deciding whether or not to keep them. Watching a young girl get stranded on the side of the road while her babies' father zooms off with her infant twins isn't glamorizing a damn thing! Watching girls fight to stay in school and GRADUATE and go to college with a baby on the hip practically every step of the way isn't glorifying anything. If anyone thinks that, they either need to watch the show and buy a dictionary and learn what "glorify" and "glamorize" mean.

  12. 12

    Im so over it

  13. 13

I can't even rember who won last season.

  14. 14

IF you hate the show SOO much why don't you stop covering it?!?!?!?! Why is it so bad that there is a show out there that shows girls that having a baby is not fun. I know for myself that if this show was on, when I was 14,15,16 or 17 It would have scared me straight about having sex. It also shows how having a baby WILL not solve any problems and that, it will add so much more problems to their lives. For myself who is in my mid 20s the show has showed me that fantasy of having a baby is not even close to reality. So if a 25 year gets the message I can image what a teenage can get from the show. Teens will listen to their peers before they listen to a adults. That’s why this show was even credited. To provident teen pregnancy! If your so against teen pregnancy why don’t you should stop glorifying people like Kim Kardashian or pairs Hilton. Those two girls are only in the public eye for having a SEX TAPE. They are just as much glorifying sex to teen girls as these shows are. BUT teen mom just shows what happens when you have sex. I wonder if gay teens could have babies if you would still be this way. Probably not because anything that is related to the gay issue your 110 percent for.

  15. 15

Perez' snarky remarks are just tacky. I am not 16.. LOL.. and have no children- and even I feel like even after I have gotten my degree and have a good full time job and steady income that I wouldn't want to deal with any of this. I know having a child is hard, it should be common sense; but honestly this show further shows how difficult it is to raise a child and how drastically your life changes when you are not ready for one, being 16 just makes it that much harder. I cannot imagine being 16 and watching this show and thinking damn that looks like fun, let me have one! EVEN for being on teen mom, you see all the flack they get and the media attention, and at 16 I would have ran for the hills after watching this to avoid that. I do not think it glamorizes teen pregnancy.

  16. 16

Ive seen these shows. While I wont say they glorify the idiot "stars" they create, they make their situations seem blase and they make these losers into "celebs." Which today, apparently, is more important than living a comparatively boring life where you have your act together.

  17. 17

Re: grenstorm – Im sure their million dollar paychecks can mend their poor little broken hearts.

  18. 18

I can't even get a job in this stupid economy because there isn't enough available in my profession yet stupid teenagers who are too stupid to know how to use a condom get paid lots of money from MTV to have babies. All it does is promote teen pregnancy, making young women decide that this is a get famous quick scheme. I hate tv, i'm going to sell mine.

  19. 19

I saw a special on dr drew last night where they sort of set the record straight. I dont think they get paid for 16 and pregnant. Anything else maybe they get paid a bit but these girls struggle a lot to make ends meet on a daily basis while keeping their relationships IF they are in one. There is so much tension between these girls and their children's father. It makes me appreciate what I have.

  20. 20

    * i dont think u all understand what is being 'glorified' here. obviously they have troubles which are 'documented' but what is being glorified here are these girls. they are celebrities, and all for the wrong reasons- and i didnt think there could be a lamer reason than kim kardashian- but maci getting implants or layla getting cheated on and this being headline news in gossip magazines.. that has nothing to do with their struggles as a teen mom.
