Teen Mom Drama Continues, Amber Portwood To Go On Trial

amber portwood to go on trial

Last we heard from Teen Mom Amber Portwood, we learned that she was planning on moving to El Lay with Gary Shirley.

Despite the fact that the pair seem to be trying to work things out, Amber still had to show up in a Madison County Court in Indiana today, where she was told that she'd have to go to trial for her felony domestic battery case, which involves Gary.

According to a source, Amber exploded into tears after the judge announced that her trial would take place on Nov 16, and another source said she stormed out of the courtroom after the verdict.

To recap, Amber's current charges which will come up during her trial include:

- 2 counts of felony domestic battery
- 1 felony count of neglect of a dependent
- 1 misdemeanor charge of domestic battery

Tough times for Amber Portwood! Then again, actions have consequences. Unfortunately for her, she's having to learn that the hard way.

Do U think Teen Mom Amber should be forced to go to trial for her actions? Or should they have given her a break?

Fry the bitch! If it was fat boy that assaulted her, he'd be going to trial as well.

I'd want to know what's behind that felony neglect charge before I made that call.

Fry her and fine her the amount of money MTV paid her to be on that dumb ass show.

Usually when there's a child involved the judge will opt not to try the case unless it's a second or third offense and will offer the defendant a pretty agreeable deal in which they do community service/probation and a whole lot of parenting/anger management classes and injunctions against their victim. It's generally in the better interest of the child to not go to trial.

Either Amber wasn't willing to accept a reasonable plea bargain or the prosecutor was offering something ludicrous knowing Amber wouldn't accept so the case could go to trial and the prosecutor could get his/her name in the papers…

Not entirely true. She turned down the plea agreement that would keep her out of jail and on 90 days house arrest so that is why she has to go to trial

That pic never gets old, thats why she won season one.

if it was the first (or even second or third or fourth or fifth) time she had struck gary i would say maybe she's learned her lesson and is sorry … but she is continuing to abuse gary so clearly she hasn't learned her lesson yet, so yes, she probably should be going to trial (and maybe even some jail time) … she needs something that will make it sink into that thick, stubborn, empty head of hers that she can't just go around hitting people who anger her :0)

Why don't we just wait until she beats her kid the way she beats on that poor SOB?
