Her heart's as big as her trophy case room! (Seriously, how many awardz does this chica have???)

Like so many other celebrities, Taylor Swift feels horrible for the poor victims of last week's devastating tornadoes and has found a way to give back to them. She's making 13,000 tickets available for her final dress rehearsal for her Speak Now tour! That's right - see Swifty live and do some good!!!

The impromptu benefit on May 21st will be at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN and all proceeds will go to those victims' families. On her website, Swifty made an official statement about the benefit, saying:

"I was watching the coverage of the tornadoes backstage at rehearsals, and I wanted to do something for the families affected by the damage. I've never opened a rehearsal to the public before, but I felt that inviting my fans to the last rehearsal for the Speak Now tour would be a great way to raise money."

It sure will! We imagine a lot of fans would not only love the opportunity to give back to these people, but also get the chance to see you live, again!

Nice gesture, girl! Very smart! It's going to be HUGE!

Although I have not been personally affected by storms rolling through the south, I am a southerner. I applaued any talent that can help these people in such dire need. Good show Taylor.

Man I commend this 21 year old. She's beautiful inside and out! She's a genuine, down to earth, kind-hearted person first and then her superstardom comes after. I like how the country community comes together in such dire situations to help the people who need it the most. Good job Taylor!

Thanks Taylor, are you my new granny?

  4. 4

It is nice to do. But to make her out to be a saint is a bit overboard. It is not like it is personally costing her anything. It is a planed rehearsal. If I had her money or career, I would do benefit concerts also.

When she gets older she best not gain a lot of weight, because she'll give those drag queens who favour Divine a run for their money.

I'm glad she's giving back. But your title is dumb as hell. Help is on the way Alabama? Yes Super Taylor will fly in on her golden chariot and rebuild everyones homes. I commend her and think you're lame.

Well, on the plus side, it's good to let kids know that it's cool to participate and help out. So telling people who attend concerts their ticket $$ will help disaster relief is a good thing.

But I'd like to know how much $$$ Taylor has personally donated. I've heard that several celebrities have donated one million dollars. Since she is so wealthy, and last year alone she earned more than $50 Million, I'd like to know what her personal gift was. Just sayin'.

These tornaodes happened in the South where her major fanbase is, so it would seem like she would do something personal. WOuldn't it be cool if she matched her fans with a gift of herown. Or maybe announced that her concerts will donate half the gate? She's touring in areas that were affected. Those people might not be able to afford to see a show. Wouldn't it be nice if she played a free concert for them?

    Re: netgear – I agree!

  9. 9

Why does she make me cringe?

Re: lemonbird – I agree. I'd also like to know what her personal contribution is. I really hate to tear her down too soon though because I remember reading somewhere that she gives a lot of money to charity under the table (or uhh… without publicizing it, if that's a better way of putting it).

I don't like her music (I'm not a 15 year old girl), but she is a wonderful person. The good folks of the South are suffering, but too few stars are willing to help do anything. It's funny how Gaga peddled those stupid prayer beads for Japan, but won't do shit for her fellow Americans. Great job Taylor!

    Re: krtmom
Because you are a fucking idiot. Cringing to the fact that someone is using their position to do something good? Now read my first sentence again.

No need to be such a fucking hypocrite, lemonbird. She has donated hell of a lot in her life. I think its great she found a different creative idea to help this time. All u are good for, is bitching on the internet.

    Re: lemonbird
And what would be the point of knowing how much she donated? So people can judge and say, "that's all? This artist donated this more amount of dollars." Personally, I don't care too much when celebrities announce how much they donated. And for every person who can't afford to see her shows, there are those who can and would be willing to help out in the name of charity.

Re: going to hell when I die
There's no point in bringing up GaGa, but for the record, she has done a lot for people in this country. I can't believe you would reduce something she did as stupid when it actually helped a country in need. Being 15 won't excuse your immaturity; you have a lot of growing up to do.

  15. 15

Shes beautiful and so nice. I love you taylorrrr

  16. 16

great that she's helping them , but why do these celebs always play Robin Hood and take from others to give to the needy? Perez, she's not really donating anything out her own pocket..it's an organised rehearsal..

Re: JennFrost – Lol. How will she get her spandex and cape on now that there are no enclosed phone booths for her to change in?!?
