We're sad to see her go, but happy she'll get to spend more time with her family.
Meredith Vieira announced her departure from NBC's Today Show on Monday morning's broadcast.
She will be leaving in June and Ann Curry will be stepping up to the
plate couch to co-anchor next to Matt Lauer, while Natalie Morales is taking Curry’s place as newsreader.
During the announcement, Meridith cited the desire to spend more time with her family as the main reason for her departure and eloquently said:
“Time is one of those weird things. You can never get enough of it. It just keeps ticking away. And I know that I want to spend more of mine with my husband Richard and my kids Ben, Gabe and Lily."
Wise words! She continued to say she hopes to stay in the NBC family, so we don't think this is the last we'll see Meredith on the network.
Everyone on the show seemed to be very supportive of her decision and had nothing but kind words for her.
Check out the clip from Today above and watch Meredith make the big announcement herself.
