It's just the iPad 2, people. There is no need for any of this, especially when customers get injured.
There was a line for the popular Apple tablet, and one of the steadfast rules for the launch was that line jumping would not be tolerated.
So an Apple employee took that very seriously when he tried to intervene when there reports of people doing just that. Him grabbing at those who were trying the cheat the line is what started the unrest.
When he left the area, the front door was smashed. The riot that had ensued sent four to the hospital.
The crowed was then cleared, and cops stood guard until the door was fixed.
Yeah, so maybe the employee shouldn't have grabbed at customers and waited for police help, but there is no need to get so worked up over a piece of technology! Just calmly wait in line and hope that you get one like a normal human being. We'd be lying to say that we weren't tired of hearing these line horror stories — if it isn't a riot, it's people getting trampled in the rush. It makes no sense to us.
Hope it was worth it!
