And The Nominees For The Daytime Emmys Are…

| Filed under: TV NewsBarbara WaltersOprah WinfreyEllen DeGeneresAwardzDr. Phil

You know, we just had a thought.

While looking over the nominees for this years Daytime Emmy awards, it occurred to us that this might be the last time they even have the Daytime Emmys! Think about it - most of the shows nominated have be CANCELED!

All My Children, One Life to Live, The Oprah Winfrey Show - all of them will be gone this time next year! Granted, there will still be a lot of competition in the talk show category, but if AMC is seeing its last days, how much longer will The Bold and The Beautiful last. Or The Young and the Restless. The time of daytime soaps maybe finally coming to close.

So, here's our point: if you are fan of daytime television, you should really enjoy the telecast this year and applaud the nominees. If things keep going the way they are, there won't be that much daytime T.V. to celebrate. Sad, but true.

Anyway, check out the full list of nominess this year after the jump. General Hospital took the lead with 21 Emmy nominations, followed closely by The Young and the Restless with 20. AMC and OLTL got 13 and 12 nods respectfully, but alas, Susan Lucci didn't get nominated this year.

Damn! Now she won't get to go out like a diva! Boo!

Thoughts on the nominations?

The Bold and the Beautiful is Horrible! How the hell is it still on?

  2. 2

I thought Susan already got her PITY WIN…

  3. 3

Susan Lucci should NEVER have received her "mercy" Emmy to begin with. She is a one note actress. That said…AMC should never have received a nomination this time. Brian Frons has single-handedly destroyed the soap I grew up with with terrible writing. So sad these shows are all being replaced with cheap-to-produce crappy talk shows, game shows and reality shows. Garbage.

Maybe she's just not that great an actress…why doesn't she just beg for one, hasn't it come to that already?

And the Best Actress Emmy in a Nauseating TV Drama is………

    Tad Martin's pet dog…FiFi

FIFI is not here to accept her award because Susan Lucci ran her over in the studio's back parking lot while she was going pottie.

That's Susan doing her impression of Clint Eastwood!!!

First off, Susan wasn't even pre-nominated so she wasn't going to get a nomination. Second, All My Children and One Life to Live will still be eligible next year. Get your facts straight. Not that anyone should care, the daytime emmy's have become a joke. And you actually right, the daytime emmy's are on there last legs-maybe a year or so left.
