America's Most Wanted Cancelled!
It’s the end of an era!
First ABC cancelled its soap operas and now Fox is cancelling America’s Most Wanted.
The series, which has been on the air since 1988, announced just a few years ago the capture of its 1,000th criminal. That's contribution enough!
But have no fear, the show won’t be gone completely.
Fox will air four, two-hour quarterly specials through the year as well as air repeats.
As for the reason behind the removal? Profits of course.
Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly revealed:
“John Walsh has been an important guy at network for a long time. It’s been an important show for us historically. We haven’t made money on the show in quite awhile. It wasn’t particularly viable. We wanted to keep the franchise alive. John is having conversations about ways to keep the series alive.
We’re going to be in originals across our schedule. We want to be able to play repeats to give the audience a chance to catch up and that’s one of the few places we can do that.”

It helped catch 1,000 criminals…. enough said. It should on the air. It is a big help for those who lost their loved ones to a crime

I think that cancelling this show is an awful idea i must admit sometimes the show scared me at times but i think it is very informative and fox will be sorry

I fucking hate tv networks at this point, its bad enough to cancel my soaps for crap ass talk shows and reality shows, but AMW has actually contributed to the world for over 20 years! The capture of criminals is much more important than making money!! Why dont people see that? That people who are already rich want more money while completely screwing over everyone else. How can they say that? That a show is being cancelled because it didn't make a profit. Blah! At least they can be honest….It makes me angry, it has made a stellar contribution for years, i think the capture of dangerous criminals from hurting more people is much more important than making money!!
America's Most Wanted is a public service that is very much needed. I would like to know what John Walsh thinks of the cancellation. He is very creative, and if the show needs to be revamped, he is the one to go to!
Last time this show was cancelled, the station received so many letters against the cancellation, that the show was revamped and brought back quickly as what it is now.

this SUCKS!!! i've been watching this show since it's been on the air! it made me wanna be an FBI agent. i'm not one but i'm so into all forensic science shows. this makes me really sad, John Walsh has done so much to make a difference.

Why dont they cancel the shows that actually dont HELP society. All those reality shows that mean nothing to anyone.. This show has helped bring justice and help families get closure what the fuck has reality show done except dumb everyone. UPSETTING.

Stations that hog big airwaves should do some public service shows to give back/pay it forward. This man on a mission will keep finding ways to seek justice no matter what happens.

I can't believe they are cancelling it. It shouldn't be about making money, this program actually helps the police catch wanted criminals and is a public assistance. Programs like this should never be cancelled to be replaced with stupid shows that are not even entertaining.

This is just ridiculous news to hear. This show is critical to keep on the air with a regular time frame (not the two hour specials from time to time). Sure, let's keep the crap that is currently running where it melts your brain cells on a daily basis and cancel out the informative and most helpful show available today.
This amazing show AMW has caught some of the most wanted criminals from all around the globe that would NOT have been caught otherwise without the help and determination of Mr. John Walsh and the public by paying attention.
I hope that another network jumps at the chance immediately to have a great successful show where the average people (you and me) are making a difference with assisting Mr. Walsh and staff. This is what the public wants. This is NOT another "reality show" where there are actors portraying "real people". This is REAL!!! This just pisses me off…..later, time for my power walk.
