Trump NOT Running For President!

Donald Trump Not Running

While the Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert jokes would have been absolutely HIGHlarious, we think it's pretty good news that Donald Trump has announced that he will NOT be running for the Republican nomination.

Here's some of what he said in his just released statement:

"After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the Presidency. This decision does not come easily or without regret; especially when my potential candidacy continues to be validated by ranking at the top of the Republican contenders in polls across the country. I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election. I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector."

Wait, what polls does he think he's continually at the top of for Republican contenders? Last we checked, that was just not true. But, we digress.

This is great news for those who seriously want to run under the Republican party. A Trump run would have just taken away critical votes without a real chance of him getting the nom. He did say this at the end of his statement, however, and we really do respect it:

"I look forward to supporting the candidate who is the most qualified to help us tackle our country’s most important issues and am hopeful that, when this person emerges, he or she will have the courage to take on the challenges of the Office and be the agent of change that this country so desperately needs."

That's definitely the way to bow out respectfully, and we really like that he takes the time to mention "he or she," recognizing that a woman candidate would hold his support if she were the most qualified! Good for him. It really does all come down to qualification — not sex, or even sexual preference!

Either way, it's time to focus on the issues, and focus on electing (or, perhaps, Re-Electing) the right person for the job!

Good luck to all the soon-to-be-official candidates!

Does this news make U happy??

The Statement:

After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the Presidency. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector.

I want to personally thank the millions of Americans who have joined the various Trump grassroots movements and written me letters and e-mails encouraging me to run. My gratitude for your faith and trust in me could never be expressed properly in words. So, I make you this promise: that I will continue to voice my opinions loudly and help to shape our politician’s thoughts. My ability to bring important economic and foreign policy issues to the forefront of the national dialogue is perhaps my greatest asset and one of the most valuable services I can provide to this country. I will continue to push our President and the country’s policy makers to address the dire challenges arising from our unsustainable debt structure and increasing lack of global competitiveness. Issues, including getting tough on China and other countries that are methodically and systematically taking advantage of the United States, were seldom mentioned before I brought them to the forefront of the country’s conversation. They are now being debated vigorously. I will also continue to push for job creation, an initiative that should be this country’s top priority and something that I know a lot about. I will not shy away from expressing the opinions that so many of you share yet don’t have a medium through which to articulate.

I look forward to supporting the candidate who is the most qualified to help us tackle our country’s most important issues and am hopeful that, when this person emerges, he or she will have the courage to take on the challenges of the Office and be the agent of change that this country so desperately needs.

Thank you and God Bless America!

Donald J. Trump

Sad day in america. Trump was the only hope we had of getting out of this mess. Very sad and disappointed. I wouldn't have taken the pay cut either.

Trump is so full of shit. He will only show respect if it's a Republican. Look at how disrespectfully he's behaved toward President Obama. Such a fake. I actually wish he would've run, if only to dilute the support for Republicans and to highlight what a joke their candidates are. However, some people are just fucking stupid so he might have actually won and flushed the country down the shitter. Glad we won't risk that now. Well, unless Palin wins.

    how now
sump trump the rest of the economy……………right now!

  4. 4

I HATE HIS UGLY-HAIRED IDIOT. HE WASN'T EVEN CLOSE TO THE TOP OF THE REPUBLICAN POLLS. IT AMAZES ME HOW HE IS SO DELIRIOUS AND CAN'T JUST ADMIT HE ISN'T RUNNING BECAUSE OBAMA BITCH-SLAPPED HIM AND HE KNOWS HE HAS NO CHANCE OF WINNING SO DOESN'T WANT TO EMBARRASS HIMSELF MORE THEN HE ALREADY DID.

Trump may help us turn the economy around but the general public sees him in the roll of a busy TV personality and real estate tycoon. Those jobs may are full time, Trump also loves to be in the news all the time. His vavavoom wife may not be great first lady material.

Trump brought issues about China, the energy crisis, & lack of respectfor the US by foreign countries and that is a good thing. Liberal media kept the birth certificate issue going to make the other issues not be heard. Obama was fearful of Trump. He used the entire Correspondence Dinner to beat on Trump knowing he had already ordered his birth certificate. Trump is not a racist nor a hater of foreigners. He married 2 women for Europe. He has worked hard to build his empire and he is too smart to ruin it by running for office. All he would accomplish would be to make stand up comics rich. I hope people HEARD his thoughts on the US buying too much from China and borrowing too much money from China and the need to use our own oil resources.

  7. 7

As the Paris Hilton of "politics" and business, he was only in it for the PR.

  8. 8

He was never serious about running, and he knew he wouldn't run he's a phoney. and anyone that believed he would run should rethink their stance.

  9. 9

he's a fame whore he only said he would for so that he could get attention and thank GOD he aint running

HAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trump is such a loser.

I only feel sad for the Daily Show which could have had a lot of fun with this if he had run.

    Trump is a chump……

  12. 12

Thank God most Perez readers are smart enough to know Trump is an idiot - :)

  13. 13

as if he stood any chance of winning. phoney racist racist asshole. hope he knows the women in his life only fuck him for his money.

  14. 14

This Troll never had a chance. Go back to your hole, you creep!

  15. 15

Run for President?! This fuckface needs to run for cover. I hope he knocks up Sarah Palin in the final days of her freaky eggs and gives birth to their bi-clone: a steaming pile of shit.

  16. 16

what a shock. ho hum. did any rational person think this tool would really run. and who didn't predict him saying, 'you know, i would have won'. how can anybody even watch his lame show.

  17. 17

OH COME ON GUYS, I WOULD HAVE LOVED FOR THE OTHER CANDIDATES TO PROBE INTO HIS PERSONAL LIFE. AFTER ALL, QUOTING MS. WENDY WILLIAMS "HIS PAST IS JUICY!!!!" THREE MARRIAGES, HIS CURRENT WIFE IS YOUNGER THEN HIS SONS, PLUS THAT WHOLE FIASCO WITH THE BROTHER, I WOULD HAVE LOVE TO SEE IT ALL AIRED OUT. AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE HE WOULD HAVE TO BRING A HAIRCUT RECEIPT FORWARD TO PROVE THE THING ON HIS HEAD IS ACTUAL HAIR!!!!

  18. 18

FIRST DAN QUAYLE, THEN GEORGE W., THEN SARAH PALIN AND TRUMP. MAYBE REPUBLICANS WILL BACK FLAYVA FLAVE AS THEIR NEXT PARTY LEADER!!!!

  19. 19

Trump was never gonna run. He was a gimmick. Trying to stir up trouble.

  20. 20

    Shocker.

    Politics is an ugly business.

  23. 23

Trump was never going to run. You cannot be president and keep your business holdings, which he has loans against up to his eyeballs. He would be poorer than Perez if he had to sell those.

  24. 24

Re: brat93111 – yeah not like the idiots who vote for obama a 1 year senator without experience…..

  25. 25

    What a mess he is.

  26. 26

I liked him. He may not be PC congeniality but a lot of what he said makes sense - now we are just left with politics as usual and ineffective "leaders" who are too busy playing double speak. Trump was absolutely right in asking for the President's REAL birth certificate and for all of you who find it was "insulting" guess what? There were a lot of people out there who needed and wanted to see it.

  27. 27

Trump is a media whore who was NEVER serious about running for president - thank God!
He would have turned turned the U.S.A. into the largest Banana Republic in the world.

Re: going to hell when I die – Not to mention the very real possibility of spending up to 200 million of his own money and then losing; the election and the money. Too big a risk for someone whose modus operandi doesn't strike me as being all about doing it for their fellow man.
