Kirk Cameron Vs. Stephen Hawking

| Filed under: Celebrity FeudsWacky, Tacky & True

Belieber

Outspoken Christian Kirk Cameron is a little ticked off at unspoken genius Stephen Hawking who has said Heaven is merely a "fairy story for people afraid of the dark" in this recent interview.

Kirk recently fired back at the blasphemous comment (in Kirk's mind at least), saying:

"Professor Hawking is heralded as 'the genius of Britain,' yet he believes in the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything and that life sprang from non-life. Why should anyone believe Mr. Hawking's writings if he cannot provide evidence for his unscientific belief that out of nothing, everything came?"

If nothing else, we're kind of confused, but then again, we're not super geniuses and have never starred in Left Behind.

Kirk has also dragged John Lennon into the debate, saying:

"[Hawking] says he knows there is no Heaven. John Lennon wasn't sure. He said to pretend there's no Heaven. That's easy if you try. Then he said he hoped that someday we would join him."

We're not sure if John Lennon meant join him in Heaven, so much as join his point of view, which may lead to world peace, but Kirk's point is:

"Such wishful thinking reveals John and Stephen's religious beliefs, not good science."

Inneresting!

What side of the debate are U on? Team Heaven or Team Genius?

Re: DavidsEuro – I agree! Why would someone think that believing in an afterlife would make you lead a fuller life?!? Knowing that this is the only life I have makes me cherish every day and live my life to the fullest. If you think you're going to some magical kingdom in the sky, why wouldn't you be wasting your life away, waiting for the next life?

We all space is constantly moving outward. Therefore it all had to erupt from somewhere. Read a physics book sometime it's called the point of infinite density.

Re: Hut_Wings – If you've read any of my past posts, you'll know I'm not the candyland trippy type, but sarcasm away, dude, if you think it makes you feel better. I didn't mention God or heaven either, did I? I'm very science based, but also realize that they know about as much quantifiably about the massive scope of the universal realm as the flat earthers did comparably about this planet. Since you didn't ask me anything, I won't offer it. If you had bothered, I might have related something; but your mind seems closed.

Re: DavidsEuro – On the contrary. I'm not miserable, lol. You know why? I can walk, run, skip, dance, sing, talk, etc…All the things that this man cannot do, no matter how many pieces of paper he has on the wall saying how smart he is. None of his diplomas or titles can make it to where all his motor skills are intact. The only reason he stays relevant, is because he keeps being controversial about religion. Otherwise someone would have just put him in a corner a long time ago and forgot about him.

Re: BeautifulDisaster311 – That is possibly the most offensive thing you could say about such an intelligent man. Just because his views are different to yours does not void them of being worthy of consideration.
