Family Guy Moving To The UK

Stewie Makes Sense

FOX's animated hit Family Guy is heading across the pond giant Atlantic ocean to the UK where it will get an English makeover.

Using Seth MacFarlane’s show as a basis, Happy Families will be an “edgy” cartoon that follows the lives of a typical suburban family living in the UK.

The UK network airing the show has said:

“The combination of slick American animation with quintessentially British humour gives Happy Families a really distinctive feel. Not only is the dialogue laugh-out-loud funny, it’s packed with fantastic celebrity cameos and satirical swipes at every turn."

Edgar, a poor sap who works for his self-obsessed, borderline-evil father-in-law, will be the UK's Peter Griffin-esque character with his wife Wendy and children “weirdo Dusty, idiot Jason, and emo Eve” completing the happy family.

We're definitely curious to see how this turns out!

Do U think the UK version will be better than the original?

I bet… No, I hope this bombs. Personally I like Family Guy and I hate it when other countries think that they can do a 'better version'.

nothing is better than the original, that's why US SKIN is so painful to watch, and maybe so will the US The Inbeweeners, and as for UK version of family guy

Why do we need a UK version? Family Guy is just as appreciated here, not like they have to make a new one to appeal to the audiences. The plot is still the same, wont change anything.

It doesn't need to be remade, I hate it when America slaughters our shows, can't believe we're going to do the same. Britain is really good at coming up with original shows, why are we doing this?

Pointless. The original is in English, clearly it translates or it wouldn't be popular on UK TV. I can see this failing horribly…

they should just call it "lady gaga" ;)

we love family guy here in the UK already, so why make something just like it?!

Oh no, please don't mess with Family Guy! I live in the UK and its my favourite programme on TV, its it being American partly that makes it so funny - few series have done well when remade for the UK (same applies in reverse as well, your Being Human isn't anywhere near as good as ours). I so hope they still continue to show the original US series on BBC3, otherwise I'm gonna have to buy all the DVDs to get my daily fix of FG ;o)
