Jeff Conway From Grease In Critical Condition

Jeff Conway In Critical Condition

So sad.

Actor Jeff Conway, best known for roles in both Grease (Kenickie) and the show Taxi is now in critical condition from an apparent overdose. He has battled the addiction demon for years.

He was also on Celebrity Rehab and Celebrity Fit Club in a bid to kick the habits. Unfortunately his family reports that he's in the hospital with pneumonia, and remains unconscious.

Here's a little about his issues:

His troubles with substance abuse have been extensively documented on reality television. "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" on VH1 found Conaway seeking treatment for addiction to cocaine, painkillers and alcohol. He also had a back problem due to an injury, which made it increasingly difficult for him to walk. Conaway became one of Dr. Drew Pinsky's most agitated patients, repeatedly threatening to quit and refusing to give up his co-dependent relationship with his girlfriend.

So sad to this happened. We really loved him in Grease and Taxi both, and we had high hopes for him as an actor. It's such a shame to see bright people succumb to such tragedy.

We hope he gets better, both in the short term and the long run. We're thinking of you, Jeff, and your family.

If people can't understand why an addict doesn't have the will power to just stop, Jeff Conway gives a behind the scenes perspective to how destructive addiction can be. His case transcended reality TV, when most Hollywood types succumb to overdose they are usually young and the "Tragedy" seems avoidable. With Jeff you could see the inevitable coming over years and years, I hope there is some good that comes from his pain. His mental anguish was always palpable. I hope his path can help someone else avoid a similair fate.

My heart breaks. Simply breaks. I know his demons all too well and have pulled for him for so long. Now, I simply wish him peace because this man deserves to rest.

May he be an example to anyone thinking of trying drugs because they think it's fun. Ask Jeff if it was fun. Praying for you Jeff. xoxoxo

Sadly, this isn't surprising. It was clear when he was on Celebrity Rehab that he was just too far gone to get help.

He never got over his failure to succeed after Taxi and Grease.

How long until you post that he's passed away? A few days?
