That's the only word we can think of since we heard this wonderful news!

Especially if you are a fan of The Shire.
Did anyone else watch the movie Clue from the 80s? There's a flick that is totally underrated! Tim Curry, Eileen Brennan and Madeline Kahn all play parts originated by the Hasbro game of the same name and while the movie wasn't a huge hit, it's still a classic to those who have given it a chance. So, then, why is everyone all up-in-arms about Hollywood greenlighting a Candy Land flick? What do ya'll have against Mr. Mint and Duke of Swirl and the Cupcake Commons…okay, we answered our own question.
But hey, we have some hope for all you naysayers out there. What if we told you that the writers behind this project were ready to take this thing to a whole new level - a darker level? That'd be kind of interesting, huh? Well, Jonathan Aibel, who also co-wrote Kung Fu Panda 2, revealed at yesterday’s Hollywood premiere that he and his partner, Glenn Berger, have very ambitious plans for this movie. He explained:
“We envision it as Lord of The Rings, but set in a world of candy. We don’t see it as a movie based on a board game, although it has characters from that world and takes the idea of people finding themselves in a world that happens to be made entirely of candy where there are huge battles going on. We are going for real comedy, real action, and real emotions at stake.”
Comedy? Action? Emotion? Candy? Sounds like a Saturday spent theater hopping with a box of Sno-Caps!
But who knows…if we all go in with no expectations, that leaves the team tons of room to exceed them. We still can't help but wonder what kind of audience they are hoping to reach? Won't a sugarfied Lord of the Rings be too dark for the kids of age to play the game? You know, the ones who can't read or count and are in the midst of losing their teeth to Hershey kisses? Just curious!
