Bono And The Edge Are Performing On The Idol Finale!

Bono And Edge On AI

That's pretty rad, we have to say!

But we weren't quite sure why, or what they'd be promoting (because let's face it, everyone who does American Idol is doing it to promote something else). That is, until we found out!

Here's what's going down:

After winning the Top Touring Artist Award at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night (May 22), U2 members Bono and the Edge are set to perform on the "American Idol" season 10 finale this Wednesday. An announcement posted on U2.com confirms that the bandmates will appear alongside cast members of the Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark," which is currently back in revamped form and running in previews with one new song, and classic hits from the band, woven into the production. Bono and the Edge are the show's composers.

So we're going to get to see a little Spidey action along with some classic stuff! Great!

This is a good way to get people to tune in… because just recently it was revealed that a staggering 7 million people went out to see U2 on their last tour. Maybe literally half the world will end up voting for their favorite Idol this time around?? HA!

Excited to see it, guys!

Will U be watching??

I am so fucking angry at these guys! Appearing on AI, whether to promote something or not, is the complete and total opposite of what these two once stood for. Yeah, times change, but it seems they are too caught up in the business of rock 'n' roll to see the bigger picture. They are sellouts, complete and total. "Am I buggin' you? I don't mean to bug ya."
