For someone who claims to be eco friendly and loving the earth, that's a pretty monstrous house. Can you imagine how much electricity and water it takes to maintain that thing? I don't want to sound bitchy and am glad she can afford that, but it just seems kinda gluttonous & hypocritical.

Wow, that's sad. That kind of money could do so much good in the world. I can't stand self indulgence to that degree. I know she gives back but usually at the expense of her production company and show or dog food company. Come on Ellen nobody needs to live like this!!! This is just plain wrong on so many levels!

You know what I cannot get with these celebrity house sellings and buyings, how come I'm so emotionally attached to the house I grew up in and could never bear for my parents selling that piece of family memory. Now all these celebs buying and selling in 2-year-tacts, aren't they like emotionally attached to what they have experienced there? Like super-wealthy Liz Taylor, worth 600 million, after her death, her house of 30 years will be sold… why????? If I were her child I would never want to sell the house my mother lived in 30 years till her death!!!

Re: Daphneforever – Some people are deeply sentimental. Others, not so much and more practical/about convenience or going where the work/dollars are. Detachment comes much easier to some than to others. Some want detachment in the case of bad families. To each his own.

Oh wow, so the 2 of them need more room and space so that is why they are moving? Whatever. I am beginning to think she is a big phoney.
