Hide Yo Kids! Hide Yo Wife! There's Porn On The Sims 3 Website!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooTech Talk

Okay, maybe that isn't such a shock for you, but it certainly was for one small town momma who peered over the shoulder of her son to see REAL nekkid ladies dashing across the screen! For shame!

Have a look at the report (above) out of Maryland. A mother has come forward to accuse the makers of The Sims 3 of being lax in their protection of children on their website. She reportedly was supervising her child online when the screen was bombarded with dozens of pornographic images.

Yuck! Disgusting! Will the Internet ever be safe enough for kids to roam freely without fear of what they will see?

I think the mum has a problem, not the kid. The game is rated 13+ in usa so i suppose the kid can handle a girl on his screen. Hysterical puritan asses.

People need to relax. I'm pretty sure your child won't be scarred for life if they see a naked digital girl run across the computer screen.

I think the better question might be "will parents ever understand that the Internet is not a free babysitter?" You're supposed to KNOW what they're doing. And frankly, if she thinks he's never seen a nekkid gurl before… she's new.

Re: thejesspress – It wasn't a naked digital girl; it was an image of a real person. And even if it is rated 13+, 13 is still too young to see pornography. The watchgroup on the newspiece is right. These porn sites imbed unwanted information in innocent places. Kids don't need fuel added to the fire of their curiosity. There are already too many teen pregnancies out there.

You post a link to naked pics of Blake Lively for kids to see and then you self-righteously ask if the Internet will ever be safe for kids? lmfao. You are a total hypocritical douchebag.

The Internet is not a fucking playground, no matter how much the "Think of the Children" set want it to be. Then, as others have pointed out, there is the usual idiotic American bullshit response to nudity. The same kid probably has 10+ games where you try to kill the other players as brutally as possible (HEADSHOT!) and that's just fucking ducky, but as soon as a tit is on the screen, suddenly Johnny is being corrupted.

If she is that paranoid about it, she should sit with him when he's on the computer. Like someone else said, the internet is not a babysitter. You don't have to have internet to play the sims 3 anyways, why can't she disconnect her modem while he gets on the computer unless she's with him?

Another thing, what is SO bad about a human body? He is what, 13? I agree I wouldn't be too happy having my kid see naked people online… but it's going to happen eventually. I'm sure it's not the first time, and I'm sure it was mild compared to what he's learned at school. Making it a huge deal is only going to scar the kid for life when it comes to bodies and sex. Maybe this is a good time to have a talk with her son and stop being so over protective. Her reaction to it will make it hard for him to talk to her when he does become sexually active; which is really unfortunate.

This is something parents need to understand… the internet is ridden with nudity and sex. It's a free for all on here, because people are behind a computer. Sure that's the last place you'd think you'd run across something like that, but it happens and the Sims 3 community is far too large to monitor every little thing thats posted.

Re: Hairplugs for Hilton – I agree, with all the stuff on here… you should have to register proof of being over 18. That's just my opinion.

sims isnt a kid game, they show people making out and dancing in a club on the tv commercials so what made her think the game would be any innocent

This report isn't telling the whole story. How old are the children? It sounds like their 10 and under, not teenagers. If so, then she probably shouldn't even be letting her kids play the Sims 3. If they're 13+, like the rating recommended, then it sounds like she should of known what she was in for in the first place.

I've been on the site, and I've played the game since the original Sims. I haven't seen naked little girls like she was talking about. Now, on the game the Sims get naked, but the private parts are pixilated to where you can't see them.

And come on! "accidently?" Little kids don't go looking for porn? Maybe not some, but it's 2011! First graders are fascinated by sex nowadays! Kids do look for this stuff! And like someone said before me, there is nothing wrong with the naked human body! It's anatomy, and there's nothing to be ashamed of.

This is just another case of a parent wanting attention (she did call up the news station, right?) so that she can blame a video game for traumatizing her children's "virgin eyes" instead of you know, being a PARENT and taking on the responsibilities of watching their children! It's like when parents blame video games for their kid shooting someone. How did the kid have easy access to the gun? Did you discuss the game with them, teach them right or wrong? Were they even mentally able to handle a video game like that?

No Monkey Business about Donna Rice? Hide Yo Presidential Candidate would be a better title for this piece. =)

A naked body is not "Pornography".

Re: Hairplugs for Hilton – First of all, this site never claims to be appropriate for kids. Second of all, parents need to be realizing what they're kids are looking at - this game is rated M for Mature for a reason…even the first games of The Sims had VERY suggestive material in them. (WooHoo/Try for Baby) If the mom took the 5 minutes to read up on the game, it wouldn't have happened. AND that part of the site is for other community members, it's not what EA is putting up.

Re: mustbenargles – Be realistic, any kid or teen can put in a fake birth date to say that they're 18.

maybe it should be rated better like 13 when i was 13 any game or movie that was rated for my age didnt have nudity and shit i dunno i dont have kids but 13 is young for that stuff i think even though most 13 year olds have seen naked ppl i still think it should be rated better then this wouldnt be a problem
