The Event May Go To SyFy As Miniseries

The Event Could Move To SyFy

For all those Event fans out there that are just dying to know what is going on might not be out of luck, as it's being reported that the show might continue past its life on network television — and head to cable on SyFy to conclude as a miniseries!

According to the source:

"Helping things is the fact that Syfy and The Event producer, Universal Media Studios, are NBCUniversal corporate siblings. But migrating a broadcast show to cable is never easy, and I hear discussions are underway to see if it would be financially feasible for The Event to continue on Syfy. If that happens and if the mini does well, it could potentially launch another season of the alien drama."

This is definitely an interesting way to handle a canceled show that has left a lot of questions. We mean, the main deal with the show is based on a huge question, "What is the event?" So it's only fair that they look elsewhere to satisfy those who invested the time.

The least they could do is let us know what they had planned by just flat-out telling us, LOLz!

What would you think if The Event landed at SyFy?

That would be great. The Event was a really good show and got cancelled because of low ratings after it came back from its hiatus. But the hiatus was from the beginning of December '10 to Mid March '11. No wonder it got low ratings when it came back because everyone had forgotten about it.

I hope they do the mini series!

Well, I was VERY shocked when it was cancelled…Of course i'd heard the talk, but I thought that a show of such high quality (IMHO) would prevail. Especially when you see all the crap the keeps getting renewed year after year. I just hope it turns out to be true.
