MORE Chezza/X Factor Drama!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooTV NewsSimon CowellSad SadCherylBusiness BlitzX FactorReality TV

We had a feeling that this was going to get ugly.

Although many assumed that Cheryl Cole would immediately return to England after her abrupt firing as a judge on the US version of The X Factor, she and the show's producers are apparently in a nasty stand-off - because they don't want to pay her for her position, despite her moving across the world and even buying a home here in El Lay!

A source with the production company, Freemantle, has flat-out denied that the singer's been fired, and in order to avoid breaching her contract, they've made arrangements for her to meet with the U.S. consulate in London to apply for a visa.

Meanwhile, sources in Cheryl's camp claim that she plans to do just that, because she intends to be compensated “as a matter of principle. … She moved her whole life to Los Angeles. He [Simon Cowell] thinks he can move people around like chess pieces.”

We can't say we blame her! We wouldn't want to have moved to a foreign country with the expectations of a job, only to be told that it wasn't working out and we weren't going to get paid!

Shady shady shady!

Here's hoping that they can reach some sort of amicable resolution, though at this point we seriously doubt that's going to happen!

What do U think?? Should Chezza get paid/remain on the judges panel??

Simon needs an EGO check! He is not saving lives- and he is not Mother Theresa! Get a grip Simon and pay up!

Cheryl should at least get paid. And considering I have no problems understanding her despite being born and bred in Asia, I'm inclined to believe that Americans wouldn't have that many problems with her accent - sometimes, it's just a case of getting used to it. She's a great, supportive judge on X Factor UK and a pretty good singer, so I think she ought to be given a chance.

  4. 4

Yes, and the rest of us had a feeling that there would be another Cheetos Story of the Day just like every fucking day. When the fuck does her contract with you run out??

  5. 5

Contractual obligations? Was there an out if they thought she was not doing a good job?

  6. 6

I'm glad she got canned. I think she would have brought the show down. No one knows her in The U.S. and frankly, belonging to a 2nd rate girl group doesn't really qualify her to judge the next "Big Thing".

  7. 7

Well, they should offer her a settlement..I assume she had a contract?? Why else would she relocate and invest in property in another country, without a contract?? If she didn't fulfill her contractual specs or they didn't theirs, well….that is what will decide this. If she didn't have a contract, she needs to fire her agent and learn from this.

    ….big gam alert!!….big gam alert !!!…………

Compensation for her expenses seem fair, it has been both professionally and personally humiliating for Cheryl. However, she's got to take this on her stride, X factor is part of a multi-million dollar industry- dropping her was nothing more than a business decision, I don't understand why Simon is being blamed. If there really were such grave technical problems with her accent, fellow judges and whatever else, then it seems Cheryl got off easier being dropped now. Perhaps this wasn't her break but if she is determined to make it in America then she can and will bounce back, learn from this experience Cheryl and move on to the better. Word.

and exactly what does she think she'll do here with a visa - teach English or is she just doing it so she can sue Simon? either way, she sounds like an idiot. Simon, pay this chick something so she can go away. needless to say, the USA is already overpopulated with second-rate, female pop singers - we really don't need her adding to the mix.

Fire her azz an cut her a check for services rendered. No one told her to srell her house and move to the USA permanently . Come on there was no guarantee that the show was even going to succeed past its initial season. She should have mitigated her damages, rent a house, and then if this workout good she could settle in, if things dont go as planned then she can go back to her home.

This girl is so beautiful who cares if you can't understand her. Just keep the camera on her. Beside nobody can understand what Paula says either.

  13. 13

Why would she need a US visa when they fired her and she's not going to be working here? Personally I think the success of The Voice has made Simon very nervous and unsure of what he's doing.

  14. 14

Her knees look like ham hocks.

  15. 15

Does the USA allow convicted criminals residency?

  16. 16

Reinstate her on US X Factor NOW!

  17. 17

You are such a liar Perez trying to mislead your readers. She never bought a house in L.A…She's been living in Simon's Beverly Hills mansion since last year!! You always go out if your way to make her sound like a victim when she's not. And if she moved to the US is so she could jumpstart her musical career in America. X Factor was gonna be like a stepping stone for her to heighten her profile in America so she could jumpstart her music career here.

Simon's not an ATM. She should be compensated for her moving expenses, but after she didn't work out in the U.S., she was offered a big fat job on X Factor UK but didn't accept that as was rumored to be in a snit, whether true or not. She should remember that successful shows follow Simon around, and burning bridges could leave her poor 15 years down the road. He could keep her employed for the rest of her days. Not smart, imo.

Further, welcome to life, where sometimes things just don't work out. The character and class of a person comes through in those times when they show how well they handle it.

  21. 21

why? does she need more digestive biscuts

if this was a normal person they wouldnt get paid why should she…

  22. 22

I have trouble undersanding Paula Abdul and her kooky ways - Feel bad for Cheryl, but don't understand the denial from the production company that she was not fired? what does that mean? Simon seems to use people for his own gain.
