Facebook And Twitter BANNED From French TV/Radio!

facebook and twitter banned from tv and radio in france

Looks like France wants to give less popular social networking sites a chance!

The French government has officially banned everybody from using the words "Facebook" and "Twitter" on television AND radio UNLESS the companies themselves are the focus of a particular story.

Apparently, France's gov made this decision because they felt that Facebook/Twitter mentions on TV/radio are unfair to other social networking sites that can't afford such exposure.

You hear that, Bebo! France has got your back! LOLz.

We understand what France is trying to do here, but we also don't think that keeping Facebook or Twitter off of TV/radio is going to convince people that they should give Myspace another try.

What do U think about the French government's decision to ban Facebook/Twitter from TV/radio?

Don't worry Frenchies. We Americans are slowly losing our rights too. Looks like France is filled with braindead sheep just like America

I get their point. Kind of cool. sort of.

its funny how you Americans don't understand anything. French government doesn't equal chances of less know networks. Its about prserving their language from american words. French are very sesnsitive about foreign words becoming naturally acquired, they also strongly disregard American pop-culture. This is the real reason they ban the words from public.

I'm pretty sure Anthony Weiner wishes they were outlawed here too.

Trying to control the free flow of capitalism always has some unforeseen and negative affects, apart from the undesired appearance of impeding successful business.
