Europe, Australia and Asia have all had the pleasure of Katy Perry's company these last few months as she has toured the world with her Teenage Dream tour.
Now, it's our turn - and Katy promises we won't be disappointed!
Tonight, Katy's tour makes its American debut in HOTlanta and fans who might've seen clips of her overseas shows online shouldn't be discouraged. Turns out, Katy's actually done a little tweaking to the show over the last couple of weeks to make sure it would be a slightly different experience for her American fans!
In a new interview, Katy reveals that this tour has been her baby for quite some time, which means she has every intention of nurturing it and building it up to its highest potential. She reveals she was inspired by another artist to bring this kind of life to her show, saying:
"Pink's [Funhouse] show had such a great balance of fun and heart. It wasn't just a dance party. There was beauty and purpose, and it was above and beyond any pop show I'd ever seen."
It should come as no surprise then that Katy hired Pink's same tour director, Baz Halpin, to bring her vision to life on stage. But what can fans stateside expect to see from Miz Purrry tonight? She won't say much, but Katy promises that it's going to be HUGE! She explains:
"It has room to grow. A typical tour is three months, but we're going to the end of November. It's nice to be able to expand and get out of the same same same. That's the fun thing about success. I can take advantage of it. Now I can say, 'I want a machine that simulates the whipped-cream boobs from the California Gurls video.' I just want to keep things fresh, keep people on their toes and keep myself excited."
Now those are the kinds of demands we like to hear divas making! It's all for the art and for the fans! Outstanding!
The wait has been so excruciating! We can't believe we have two more months to go! We're getting impatient! Girl, get here now!!!
