Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark's Bono Talks Julie Taymor

Back in May, Bono spoke about Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, and he had less-than-flattering things to say about it.

Now, Bono has opened up about "sort of" director/co-writer Julie Taymor.

Here's what he had to say about her:

"She's so involved with the details of her work and perhaps she got a little tired. She got so close to it perhaps in the last moments she couldn't see it."

Inneresting insights, Bono. Guess we'll see if the musical fares better without her, when the revamped version officially opens on Tuesday.

What do U think about Bono's comments about Julie?

Having wasted a couple of hundred to see Julie's "vision," I can only conclude Bono is being overly diplomatic.

Even though he seems to be trying to be diplomatic here, I am sure it feels very hurtful and disrespectful to the accomplished professional. Sometimes it is better to say NOTHING.

People need to remember that way back when she directed Lion King for Broadway, actors were constantly getting injured all the time. Taymor has never been one to put the actor's safety before her "vision". And although her projects on and off the screen are very beautiful to look at, usually the stories are pretty bad—she should stick to direction, and leave the writing to someone else. Last but not least…she should probably realize that if actors are getting hurt right and left…something isn't quite right with her "vision".
