How YOU doin'????
Perez recently sat down with Wendy Williams to dish like two old friends!
We talked about the real Wendy, being a suburban mom in New Jersey, her wigs, her love of cooking, doing her own groceries, and of course her talk show, her former career in radio and so much more.
Plus, Williams answered YOUR questions too!
Read some highlights from our chat… after the jump.
Watch the interview in full (above)!
Perez Hilton: Now the talk show has been picked up for the third season now.
Wendy Williams: Yes.
Perez Hilton: And you know, you’ve been doing it for a long time, like working in show business. But this show, it took a while later into your career.
Wendy Williams: It really did.
Perez Hilton: Why do you think that was?
Wendy Williams: Well, you know what, I did my first TV pilot maybe back in 1993.
Perez Hilton: And when you got the show picked up and it's been going now, you left the radio show though.
Wendy Williams: Immediately.
Perez Hilton: Were you nervous about that, was it a big decision or you were?
Wendy Williams: Yes. You know what, so I knew that I had to give up radio, totally focus on TV. TV is not something I'm familiar with. I know that people equate them, radio/TV similar somewhat. No they’re not. And they’re, I was leaving radio an expert in every aspect of it, entering the TV and only knowing how to be Wendy, but there are other things that I had to know also. But I am broady broad form Jersey and that doesn’t, that isn’t necessarily something that everybody's used to seeing. You know I mean there are a lot of you know outspoken yet emotionally sappy, because I cry a lot on TV too, women on TV but there are not that are six feet four in heels. You know I feel like I'm an enigma and it no longer shocks me when people have to give my show the double stare. But I promise that if you watch for one show, you’re going to find something about the show that you like including the host.
Perez Hilton: Hey!!
Perez Hilton: All right. You said you like to cook. Are you like the kind of mom who's like in New Jersey there baking and bringing stuff to the school?
Wendy Williams: No, no. No. The stuff for the school I must tell you, I buy.
Perez Hilton: Okay.
Wendy Williams: Like so if they need chocolate chip cookies, I'm going to buy some Entenmann's or something like that. But I am the type of mother that at 5 o'clock I'm watching the TV because my show repeats in New York at 5 o'clock. I do watch myself, I know that that might be –
Perez Hilton: No, that's good.
Wendy Williams: I watch for a multitude of reasons.
Perez Hilton: You can learn together.
Wendy Williams: What words to criticize, you know thighs or complement a joke that I might have told somebody or said, you know the hot topics are really good or whatever. I watch, I watch my own show at 5 o'clock but I'm also cooking dinner at that time in the kitchen, and our son is also doing his homework at that time. So the show is often times on mute. So all I'm doing is catching a look-see and stuff. But yeah, you know what, I am a modern day housewife who happens to have someplace fabulous to go every weekday.
Perez Hilton: I have something super fun. I have some questions that some of my readers have for you.
Wendy Williams: Okay.
Perez Hilton: let's start with Mars who wants — we talked about that one. Next. Christian G wants to know if you could wake up next to anyone tomorrow morning, who would it be?
Wendy Williams: Benjamin and Franklin. Lots of it.
Perez Hilton: That's a good answer.
Wendy Williams: Yeah.
Perez Hilton: Carol R. wants to know will you make your boobs any bigger?
Wendy Williams: No.
Perez Hilton: No.
Wendy Williams: I'm glad she said make because I know I'm a statuesque woman and people would think that these are natural or whatever. But no, you know I am a natural A cup, an A/B floppy, not fatty. No, I won't. And they actually look a lot larger on TV which is the bane of my existence.
Perez Hilton: But you like the size of them now. Would you make them smaller?
Wendy Williams: No.
Perez Hilton: No. okay.
Wendy Williams: I wouldn’t make them smaller because I got them and they’re about, my boobs are about 14 years old now. And they, this is the original size that I got and if I had known I was going to be a daytime talk show host at that particular time, yeah they would be maybe a C cup. But you know these fit my chest cavity and these fit my stature. I mean there is nothing about me that is small.
Perez Hilton: Yes, the boobs are fine.
Wendy Williams: And perfect.
