Real World Headed To San Diego Despite Neighbor Complaints

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooTV NewsMTV

Real World is causing more drama!

The producers of the long-running MTV show plan on returning to San Diego to film their 26th season.

Unfortunately for them, neighbors in the La Jolla area, Bird Rock, are none too happy with the show invading their small quite neighborhood.

A local resident says, "This Real World seems like a lot of extra partying, a lot of glorifying substance abuse and partying and that's all going to be right here in this quiet neighborhood."

They've also complained that producers have not been responding to their concerns and they wants answers.

Finally, after several unanswered complaints, RW Productions, the company shooting the show, sent out a formal letter to the neighborhood that most of the filming will be done inside the house with minimal disruption to the neighborhood.

Um, do producers even remember what happened the last time they were in San Diego in 2003? There were several fights in and out of the house, two arrests, and even a sexual assault investigation took place

We don't blame the neighbors for being concerned! It's basically like having Jersey Shore moving in on your block!

That is SO not the right area for Real World. I'd be mad, too - it costs a gazillion dollars to live there. Pacific Beach would be way better & much more fun for them anyway.

I live in SD and locals HATE anything like this unless its an actual event! Keep LA in LA and leave SD alone!

Will they go anywhere new now? I feel like they are repeating city after city. Plus that show is not what it used to be. It is a party show now. Older seasons showed a lot less partying and more differences in the personalities. The last really great one was Brooklyn and before that it was a long time ago!

There has already been a Real World: San Diego…. have they honestly ran out of places for this series?

The average home in La Jolla is well over a million dollars why the fuck would they want to put these ghetto garbage there. Send them to new Jersey where all the trash is

SD doesn't need any more dumb ass drunk people that are not from this town nor plan on living here long term than we already have. They come in town, puke, piss, and litter every where. Leave and the locals clean up after their mess. Go somewhere else MTV! I am sure there is another town in the world that will sell out to your money!

I am not happy about the real world trash bags living in my neighborhood. This is a very locals only town, they will either be used or tormented. Also, I hear they are moving into a house by PB Point, have fun dealing with the angriest neighbors ever, idiots. MTV, you really messed up with your choice of placement.

The crews bring a lot of spending money into the area, so a little compromise on both sides would be good, considering.

I live 8 streets down from the location, and Im not one to complain as I understand the draw- La Jolla is beautiful…but , RW 26 I hope understands and respects the small, quaint, surfing, visitor-friendly, "jewel" that La Jolla is….not a party place…take it to PB or OB or Downtown please…:) And btw Im a 29 year old former part girl from MI that found solitude and serenity in the west coast…more specifically LJ…hoping to keep the serenity :)

This house is 1.5 miles from mine which is in North PB. They should have gotten a place in Mission Beach where all the tourists rent places and won't mind a crew acting like they're on vacation 24/7 for 3 months. Either way, wherever the house is in SD, I know my summertime on the beach won't be quite as relaxing..
