Reporter Loses Job Over Vomiting Kid At Glee Concert

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueSad SadGlee

Glee Puke Job Loss

First off, we hope the kid is feeling better — because the mom will never, ever, let them forget this.

Paige Wiser got to review Glee! Live for the Chicago Sun-Times. She was pretty excited, asked if she could take her kids, to which she got approved because her "cute kids' reaction would be more than welcome" as part of the story!

But that's not how it worked out.

Her son fell off his chair. And then her daughter was hurling into a cotton-candy bag. So she had enough and bounced with her kids three songs later.

But she still had to write a review, so she reviewed songs she thought they'd sing, which they ended up not singing. She got called on it, and then fired for fabricating the story.

We can understand her thought process, but not actually landing on the decision to just make shizz up. That's when you just tell your editor that your kids got sick, and you couldn't do the review, and that you're really sorry.

If there is one thing someone can be sympathetic with, it's getting a puking kid out of public!

aw her poor kids but what a moron for lying! she should have told the boss the truth, or perhaps reviewed what she did she then written a whimsical story about what happened with her kids. or if she wanted to be reaaallly professional, she could have a- not brought her kids to avoid such a mess or b- had someone pick them up so she could do the job she was paid to do. there is always a solution but what she did was just dumb.

ps-she didnt lose her job over a vomiting kid, she lost if over libel.

I knew two reporters who used to make up quotes: One went to the games, and wrote what he thought the athletes would say. Another never went to a game, but listened to it on the radio.

I guess I'm not the only one who gets sing while watching Glee. Anyways fire her cause of that! Come on I bet she was in so much pressure to write a review about it, that she had to lie. I mean what would she say to her boss or in the review that my kids got sick and i couldn't finish the show? Give her a break.

Don't bring your brats to work with you, stupid.

Re: lalalola77 – come on tho, it was a glee concert. im sure her kids were fans. it makes sense to bring your kids. i would have just realized this is still work and had someone pick them up or i would have called in and said someone has to cover this story for me.

What a fail on the reporter's part… if she was gonna make the review up, she could've looked up the set list. It's not like Chicago's concert was the first stop on the tour, it was already known what songs they perform. Lied and didn't even do her research.

@MsOverstreet That's exactly what she did. She stated that Lea Michele performed 'Don't Rain on My Parade' in concert, as it had been performed at previous concerts and was on the set list. But in actuality, they ended up taking the song indefinitely out of the set list and had not been performed at the Chicago concert she "went" to.

How could anyone help but to vomit at a Glee concert?

  10. 10

She must work for MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC or CBS. They usually make shit up

She shouldn't have brought the kids in the first place…and she would have been fired for telling the truth too. When you work in media, you can't just not do a story

Sorry lady, but you were working. Either leave the kids at home or bring another adult that could have taken them home while you DID YOUR DAMN JOB.

someone writing articles about things that didn't happen
are you sure you arent this woman, p?

  14. 14

you know. this woman is an idiot and deserved to get fired. i'd be willing to bet my life that if she had just told her editor/boss what happened with her kids, they would have been understanding. they might have been pissed about not getting the review but i doubt she would have gotten fired over it. what a dumbass.
