Robin Wright May Star In Netflix's FIRST Original Series House Of Cards

| Filed under: TV NewsKevin Spacey

Robin Wright

A few months ago we talked about Netflix's first original series directed by David Fincher and starring Kevin Spacey, which the company acquired by outbidding television networks like HBO and AMC with a $100 million commitment.

House of Cards, the 26-episode political thriller based off of a British miniseries of the same name, may have found its leading lady too!

Robin Wright is in talks to star alongside Spacey in the series slated to begin filming in the Spring of 2012.

This is definitely huge and we can see this changing the entertainment landscape forever if the show is successful.

Based off of David Fincher's track record, it's pretty hard to believe it WON'T be successful.

Plus, Netflix has over 20 million subscribers, many of which choose the online based entertainment over cable. We're sure 20 million people wouldn't mind some original programming!

Since it only costs $8 bucks a month for the most basic service, we can see a lot of people subscribing for the original programming on top of their cable bill too!

Do U think this may be the beginning of a new era for television shows?

always loved Robin right back to her Santa Barbara soap opera days
puzzles me why she married Sean Penn and how she was able to stay with him for so many years-couldn't have been easy!

Awesome move on Netflix's part. Let's see what they do about the possible commercials. Will their subscription base be enough?

She looks alive and happy since she divorced that pig Penn.

Netflix - A bunch of Trek fans over at trekmovie.com have been saying that they would love to se a Star Trek: The Next Generation mini series on Netflix. I thought that was a joke at first, but now I think that may be a really cool idea. Movies with Picard and company done for Netflix would be inspired.

House of Cards could be epic if done well. I plan to watch the British version first.
