Disturbing! Second Person Dead at Bonnaroo

| Filed under: Music MinuteR.I.P.Sad Sad

This is seriously upsetting.

Last week, we were very sad to learn that the deceased body of a 32-year-old woman was found at the campsite of the Bonnaroo festival. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Now, we've learned that another Bonnaroo attendee, 24-year-old Christopher William Yoder, has passed away after getting hypothermia while at the festival.

Here's what Bonnaroo organizers had to say about the tragic deaths in a statement:

"The safety of our patrons is our No. 1 concern, and we are deeply saddened by this."

We truly hope we don't hear about any more cases like this! So sad and and disturbing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of both people who passed away at this year's Bonnaroo festival.

Absolute tragedies.

wow, he froze to death in all that heat? He died of "hyperthermia". Read the article better or check a dictionary, you dunce.

FRIENDS!!! When doing class - A drugs have a buddy and drink lots of water!!!

Huh? Someone who isn't high and has their survival instincts operative, will not allow themselves to die at a friggin' concert. I'm not the coroor on the case, but I venture to guess that the dead were "fully loaded".

I'm not the CSI on the case but I would venture to guess that both of the dead were loaded on booze, illegal substance or both. If you're at a concert and your survival instincts are in full gear, you won't allow yourself to die under the circumstances. Bonnaroo must have had medics on site. Why the dialogue about this being such a tragedy, like they died in an airplane crash, in the line of military duty or in the course of some heroics?

I went to Bonnaroo and first thing I thought when I read this was "that's not possible" haha it was SOOO hot. HYPERthermia dumbo. Anyway, sad, but easily avoidable… even if you're doing all the drugs in the world, fucking keep drinking water, have an umbrella to block the sun, and don't over exert yourself (sit down at some concerts) it's SERIOUSLY not that hard. Feel terrible this happened when like I said it's SOOO easy to avoid. I faint VERY VERY EASILY even in NY weather… & even I have been prepared enough for the heat @ Bonnaroo in the past years that I've never so much as fainted there…

Re: hocus pocus – Yeah, Bonnaroo has always been very hot. But I gotta say, in the recent years (besides this year ’cause I didn't go) I've rarely seen people doing anything there other than smoking pot and drinking, ESPECIALLY in the centeroo area and places away from the campsite. It's been VERY few times that I've seen people straight up tripping balls or geeking out. You gotta think, Bonnaroo is A LOT more mainstream than some of the other festivals. For Christ's sakes, MTV and Fuse have even been some of their sponsors! But even though most people there don't do that, of course you have those that do. Because you're right- hypothermia is like the LAST thing you should be getting there. Those people should have been more prepared! But nevertheless, it's still very sad. People go there to have the time of their life, and end up losing it altogether.
