Tracy Morgan Is Making The Effort

Tracy Makes An Effort To Make Things Right

This is so good to hear.

This is exactly how people should go about mending their ways — and especially if they continue the trend even when the heat on them dies down.

Tracy Morgan has been all over the news with the anti-gay tirade he went on in Tennessee a few days ago, and has getting the flak he deserves. Unlike other people who have gone on to make the same kind of terrible comments, Tracy is focused on making it right.

So he's going back to Tennessee to apologize everyone face to face… but that's not all:

Tracy also plans to visit homeless gay teens at the Ali Forney Center in NYC this week … teens disowned by their parents because of their sexual orientation. The cherry on top — Tracy also plans to film a PSA for GLAAD's upcoming "Amplify Your Voice" campaign.

Wow! This is great to see, Tracy. We really do hope this is sincere and not just PR, because it would be wonderful to count you as an ally to the equality cause!

Keep it up, this is the right direction!

    good for him

I don't like how if someone is against all the gay rights fights going on, they get basically cast out from the world now. Not everyone has to agree with it and not everyone is going to. I think everyone, gay or not, should all get to do the same thing, including marriage even though it means nothing in this world anymore. But to cast out and tell the people who don't like it that they're wrong, means your doing the exact same thing the people who think gay rights are wrong are doing. Your one of them telling people their opinion is wrong because it's not the same as yours. Not everyone is going to agree or support it, and they don't have to. He shouldn't have said the things publicly but so what if he did, it's his opinion, get over it. That's as bad as being racisist, GET OVER IT NOT EVERYONE WILL AGREE WITH THE SAME THINGS YOU DO.

Team Tracy! Don't bow down to special interest groups. You have the right to Free Speech. Don't be bullied by those who preach anti-bullying. Isn't it amazing how ugly they get and bully others when they preach an anti-bullying platform. Hypocrites.

Tracey has apologized enough… He's being crucified by the Gay Mafia. Back off! He was kidding…

Doesn't change the way he feels inside. Don't tell me you're falling for it, Perez.

Comments 2 and (especially 3) I think you guys are completely missing the point here. I read everything he said and it was VERY offensive. Comedians make jokes and a lot of the time they make edgy comments that aren't that bad, but what Tracy Morgan did is very similar to Frankie Boyle. I urge 'hottifreak7' to give him a listen and just wait till he offends you - because he will - and come back and explain how you feel. Comment 3 - as someone who was bullied in high school and now gets counselling to try and build self esteem I don't agree with you one bit, but what would you know? You probably do all the bullying, right?

Who cares - when did it become wrong to voice your opinion if it's not what others want to hear. He shouldn't have to apologize. Society has really lost it's edge. Boo

I guess effort out of fear of loss of a paycheck is better than no effort at all.

Re: pearl chavez – My, My. Quite a lot of assumptions that you're making. I was fortunate to go to a high school that was mufti-ethnic. What we all shared was coming from low-middle-class income families. For my last two years in high school, I was a leader, by request of school student body and the Teachers Association to organize and lead a cultural appreciation ( in other words, anti-hate) team. My school started having issues when busing began. Even the poor hated those of their same ethnicity over economic status. Final words on the matter: Go F&ck yourself. You know nothing about me, including my race and sexual persuasion.

Sometimes people have a knee-jerk reaction to an issue, but when they're called on it, they think about it and can find themselves disagreeing with themselves and wondering why they thought that way. That's how people grow, and maybe that happened to Tracy.
He stepped up to the plate once he thought about his comments because of the reaction.
    People never stop growing.

There is a large gay community in Nashville. Most people were shocked at his comments and he did not get laughs over it. I always thought he was bi or gay.

Wow… that's already more than what you did, and you're gay.

Re: Wild-Guitar – Be careful. Your IQ of 65 is showing. baaaaa-baaaaaaa. Why don't you run off to Syria with Perez to save the kidnapped lesbian?

Re: pearl chavez Re: poodlewithamohawk – Although I don't know them in person or anything, that poodlewithamohawk girl is NOT a bully. If anything, she is one of the most mature people on this site. Same with Luvs_2_Tango. But anyways, she was basically saying thaT although he did something wrong, he shouldn't have to bow down to some special interest group to make it all better. And she was saying that it's especially appalling that they go out of their way to make celebrities feel even worse about the mistakes than they already do by forcing them to do this and that with the media, and if they don't do it then they damage their reputation. She was just pointing out the irony of them pushing him around when they are supposed to be against that sort of thing. But pearl chavez, although I agree with you that those Tracy comments were absolutely disgusting, you totally missed the point in what comment #3 was saying. She wasn't saying that bullying was ok. She was saYing that some of the groups were being hypocritical.
