Gay Adoption On The Rise In U.S.!

gay adoption on the rise

This is exactly what we like to hear!

According to the latest census, gay adoptions in the U.S. are increasing, despite all the legal issues that gay couples must contend with in at least half of the states in the country.

Here's what executive director of the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute Adam Pertman had to say about the trend:

"The trend line is absolutely straight up. It’s now a reality on the ground."

And here's what Moira Weir, the director of job and family services dept in Hamilton County, Ohio had to say about it:

"The reality is we really need foster and adoptive parents, and it doesn’t matter what the relationship is. If they can provide a safe and loving home for a child, isn’t that what we want?"

We 100% agree! More from Bryan Samuels, the commissioner for the Administration on Children, Youth, and Families:

"The child welfare system has come to understand that placing a child in a gay or lesbian family is no greater risk than placing them in a heterosexual family."

This is SO wonderful to hear! Let's keep those numbers going up, and let's keep providing children with loving and caring families!

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!

Sean and Marcus from Corrie! Love this!

Yeah, these kids need foster and adoptive parents so maybe the great US of A should make things a bit cheaper and easier for the responsible and productive adults of this country to adopt children instead of going to where ever Angelina gets hers from………

Re: Pixelpops – I knew they looked familiar!

Spoiler alert much! I think you just revealed something to the Canadian Coronation street audience that they might not want to know about months in advance.

people must have a license to drive; it should be required they have a license to breed as well. this planet is way too overpopulated.

For god sales, I cannot even see why this is an issue. A child needs to be a loving environment instead of these foster homes where people do it just for the money and dont give the kids any love or attention to these wonderful children. Grow up america,

This is GREAT news! It's great news for the LGBT community, but in my opinion, it's even better news for the children being adopted. So many kids are in need of loving stable home environments, as opposed to being wards of the state. I'm happy this opens up many more homes for children in need!!!!!

On Glenn Beck's June 14th show, Glenn aired Muslim Clerics who are calling for the gathering and stoning of all homosexuals. Why does our president want to negotiate with these people. WHy doesnt the GLBT community call out Muslims for their intolerante beliefs and desires to murder homosexuals????

This is great however those of us who want to adopt and live in the US can't because it costs way to much! $25000+ to adopt in the US this is crazy!! A child needs a loving home and a family why the price tag? Some of the people out there that have/had children the natural way aren't parents and should never be parents but for those of us that so longed wished for a child only to be told that you can't and then go and speak with someone about adopting only to be told you need "x" amount of dollars it's just one crushing blow after another. I would love to adopt and give a child or two maybe more a good home with a wonderful family but living in the US and not having the amount of money they require (lump sum) to pay for that child well my hopes and dreams are crushed. So to those of you that can adopt and have the money (lump sum) to adopt congrats to you and I wish you nothing but love and happiness.

This is great news! Still sad that gays can't get married! At the ned of the day they're still being discriminated against because they don't have equal rights! Obama needs to step it up.

    Another gay agenda item.

THIS IS A GOSSIP SITE ABOUT CELEBRITIES….not gay agenda items.

funny how Sean and Marcus are in the photo…. Wonder if that was intentional.

Re: Team Kim Richards – Wrong! This is a gossip web site about celebrities AND Gay "agenda" items! Equal rights for all! Thanks Perez for addressing issues that really need attention.

Gays and Lesbians will probably be a better choice than some evangelical household. At least the kid will not be beaten to death with a plastic pipe in accordance to some 6000 year old law from a DEAD CULTURE, or murdered in the name of HONOR because she did not wear some head scarf.

    Google Lydia Slack.

Excellent news! Gay couples are in a higher earning bracket than straight folks and can provide well for their children. If they can prove that are a stable couple who have had a long term relationship and are devoted to each other and their children….just as straight couples must do. More power to them to provide loving homes and dedicated parents.

Re: straighticketvoter – Thank you for staring something that is politically incorrect. Be prepared for the hate police to berate you….

  19. 19

I beg to differ. There is DEFINITELY a statistical increase in the risks for a child being adopted into a straight family. The rules and restrictions for children who go into heterosexual family homes are far less stringent than those for homosexual couples. have you not seen what happens to so many children who are adopted out. Some parents simply use them as welfare bait. Gay couples, on the other hand, work so much harder to adopt.

Why exactly are you using a picture from coronation street? why not use a real gay couple who have adopted?
