Yes! New York Assembly Passes Bill To Legalize Gay Marriage!

Thank you, New York! This is incredible!

Yesterday, the Assembly passed a bill that would legalize gay marriage in New York! Though the measure passed with the lowest margin in the four times it has been brought to the floor (80 to 63), the majority was still on the side of equality and now, the bill will make its way to the Senate floor.

But there within lies the biggest hurdle. The bill needs 32 votes to pass on the floor. So far, 31 senators have gone on record as supporting it. Can the cause manage to swing one more vote in their favor in the GOP-controlled Senate? We sincerely hope so!

We're getting so close everyday to a world where every person is afforded the same rights as everyone else, no matter their race, creed or sexual orientation. We're proud of the work New York supporters of equality have been able to accomplish and we hope to see all their hard work pay off soon!

Equality for all!

There is no such thing as sexual orientation. Th e correct term is choice. A person chooses who they sleep with, thats it. Not if and or anus' about it. Perez chooses who he sleeps with, he is not preprogrammed to do anything. It is choice. No special privilages associated with choice. As much as you want to make this a struggle associated with the same struggles as civil rights, it will never be…because you were not born homosexual, you choose to engage in that activity.

Still under the delusion that you represent gays after calling will.i.am a homophobic slur? Fuck off and die already you fat pig.

    Re: Desideratum – prove it.

Well 31 have "signed" on to support it, when the calls start coming in from the voters, the money leaves the coffers, the re-election hopes dwindle, they will come to their senses and change the vote. A good thing………..of course. This gayness above all else has got to stop if not just to shut you up.

Any Republican voting FOR gay marriage will be outta of job next election.
I'm in NYC and I know this. People might say there are FOR gay marriage, but behind closed doors, it is quite different.
    .
    It won't pass the Senate.

Hope it becomes a law. Hope one day we will judge people for who they are instead of what they are. Marriage should be something for anyone who believes in it.

Re: Desideratum – Like being Black! Now you can buy Sammy Sosa's bleach cream and be white yeah!! I'm not gay but if you think millions of gay people get harassed , beaten , discriminated and killed for their choice? Bitch please!! Do you know that for every 80'000 births i is a ”hermaphrodite”? People with 2 sexes! Did they chose to be like that!

Re: Desideratum – The current consensus among scholars is that sexual orientation is not a choice. There are means of assessment and scales to measure sexual orientation, and the studies include biology, genetic factors, hormones, the auditory system, environmental factors and even birth order. Do some research. With a name like Desideratum you should find out the facts.
