We've got a number for you, Hugh Jackman. It's 24601. That's how many reasons there are that he should take this role. Let's go through them. Reason number one … we kid, we kid. That'd just be silly of us!

But the truth of the matter is that Hugh is in talks to star in Tom Hooper's film adaptation of the musical Les Miserables as Jean Valjean. Personally, we can't think of anyone better suited for the role! Powerhouse voice, terribly handsome. The real problem is going to be finding someone to play opposite him as Inspector Javert!

Hmm. We're thinking … Ramin Karimloo?

Don't know him? LOOK HIM UP! (You're welcome!)

Anyone else U think would be good opposite of Hugh as Jean in Les Miz?

Gerard Butler would be pretty good too, I think. Lea Michele would make a good Eponine and Lea Salonga has to be there somewhere as well, preferably as Fantine.
    *Sigh* I love Les Misérables.

Didn't they already make of movie of Les Miserables????

Jackman would be so perfect for this role, especially with Hooper directing. It will be a great movie, we have needed a super good musical for a long time, and Jackman is the man to star in it..

    Ramin Karimloo for Enjorlas!

Re: dirtyfinger – They did, with Liam Neeson. But this movie is going to be based on the musical rather than the book. There was no singing in the other movie.

Really think this is big enough to ask God to intervene? Can we please leave him out of our discussions?

such a great all round talent
    he”d be fantastic for it!!

That's very intriguing. I think he's a little young for the part, but Hollywood can usually fix that. He's an amazing actor, and he's done a lot of theater. I think he'd be good.

This would be absolutely FANTASTIC! I'd be happy :)

Re: sayswho – The reference to God is from a song from the musical. Jean Valjean sings a song "Bring Him Home" asking God to let a young man live and "God on high" is a lyric from the song.

yeeeah for RAMIN! thanks for saying about him because he is so talented and it wud be good for him to have another film role (he played Gustave Daee - Christine's father in the Phantom of the Opera) and since it has just been anounced that his show - LOVE NEVER DIES - in which he plays the Phantom (he originated this role) is to close! if not him as javertt whcich would rock - is he too old to play enjolras if not? cuz him in that red waiscoat is SCRUMMY - can we have Hadley Fraser as Grantaire (the drunk) cuz that would be awsum - and yeaah! lea salonga has to be in it! she just has to be!
