According to TMZ, the two legendary singers apparently spoke about how much sense it'd make for them to work together at some point, and as it's being reported now,

Leave it to U2 to use their massive venue to pay tribute and dedicate songs to connect even further with their audience!
Over the weekend the band — which continues to have the largest turnout for their tours — kicked off their hit Beautiful Day with a touching video message from Rep. Giffords' husband:
"I look forward to coming home. Tell my wife I love her very much. She knows."
The crowed was moved and went nuts cheering for the injured Rep. who made it home this week despite a horrible gunshot wound at the hands of a crazed gunman only 5 months ago!
Not only Giffords got a shout out, though, as Maria Shriver was there in the audience. She got a dedication before U2's hit Pride!
Even without the heartwarming shout-outs, we're not surprised to hear that they put on another brilliant show yet again!
