G4 Network Pulls Ryan Dunn's New Stunt Show Following His Death

| Filed under: TV NewsSad Sad

Sad, but good call. Some of those stunts might very well hit a little close to home, if you know what we mean.

The G4 network has shelved Ryan Dunn's new show Proving Ground indefinitely following his death in a tragic car accident yesterday. The show followed the Jackass alum as he recreated professional stunts from film, TV and video games in real life. The series premiered last week to "eh" ratings by G4 thinks it might be a bit tactless to air the remaining eight episodes given the situation. A spokeswoman for the network said:

"The show will not be airing for now and discussions are underway re future plans."

What a disappointment. We're sure he worked very hard on that show and he'd be heartbroken to see it ripped off the air before it had a chance to build momentum. Still, we have a feeling some of the stunts he recreated will be very hard for some people to watch now, given the situation. Very sad stuff.

Re: MarioMonjack – thats pretty harsh.. I know alcoholism and when ur a certain point of drunkenness u tend to make a lot of stupid decisions. ive known many alcoholics who have done horrible stuff while there drunk and would never consciously do it in life. if he did have a alcohol problem tho its sad he didn't get help for his addiction b4 this happened.. RIP Ryan Dunn… And no im not stating he has a alcolhol problem im stating he COULD of. just to make it clear. but if he didn't, he just made a horrible choice while under the influence. or just being stupid while tipsy.. either way its a death of a man who doesn't deserve to die. people that a rapist paedophiles that have no emotion deserve to die, in my books..

Re: MarioMonjack – You are just a horrible person. Being glad anyone is dead is such a terrible thing. What if YOUR best friend, YOUR son, YOUR brother drank too much and had a fatal crash as a result. Would he deserve to die? As for Ryan, sure, he got drunk and drove. But people make mistakes. He was a super awesome and funny guy, and I'm devastated to see him go. I just hope the other Jackass guys, especially Bam, are doing okay.

Re: MarioMonjack – What does them being tattooed have to do with anything? The Jackass guys are not worthless…just ask their hundred million fans! They were able to make a living off of doing totally awesome, funny, and reckless shit that they love and make millions from it. What are you doing with your life?

They shouldn't pull this show off the air. If I were Ryan Dunn, I'd be proud of my show, and even if I'd died I'd want it to finish out on the air as intended.

I agree with mario. Whgy is this jackass getting so much sympathy when he could have killed inncoent people by his own selfishness, immaturity, irresponsibility and stupidity>? i don't get it.. Fucking worthless trash. and worthless and trashy anyone else who doesn't agree, because it means you're too stupid and hypnotized by tv and the media to know stupid when you see it.

Re: MarioMonjack – You're worthless. It's obvious that you have no self worth. You have absolutely nothing positive to say about anyone. You're just pissed off at the world. I feel sorry for you. I'm sure you get on here and post these negative comments just so SOMEONE will respond to them. It's probably the only way you can get people to talk to you.

I can't imagine them shelving it indefinitely. They're probably just gonna take it all back to editing. I know of at least one stunt that is WAY too close to home. It really would be tasteless for them to air it.

Re: MarioMonjack – Honestly, it's not nice to be happy for someone elses death. Thank God nobody else got hurt but now lots of people wish they would have done something different to avoid the tragedy. Believe me, i know that part.

Re: pollopicu – They get sympathy cause it's done, nobody can change what already happened. His friends have to live thinking or wishing they could have done something and i'm sure that's punishment enough. The fact that they were able to make money just by making people laugh is/was their own thing…. that NEVER hurt anyone else but themselves doing their stunts. They brought happiness to people that needed to laugh at something not because they wanted to make the money($ came after if you actually know a little of the history of how it started)…. being happy of someone else's death it's a terrible thing to say.
