Sad, but good call. Some of those stunts might very well hit a little close to home, if you know what we mean.
The G4 network has shelved Ryan Dunn's new show Proving Ground indefinitely following his death in a tragic car accident yesterday. The show followed the Jackass alum as he recreated professional stunts from film, TV and video games in real life. The series premiered last week to "eh" ratings by G4 thinks it might be a bit tactless to air the remaining eight episodes given the situation. A spokeswoman for the network said:
"The show will not be airing for now and discussions are underway re future plans."
What a disappointment. We're sure he worked very hard on that show and he'd be heartbroken to see it ripped off the air before it had a chance to build momentum. Still, we have a feeling some of the stunts he recreated will be very hard for some people to watch now, given the situation. Very sad stuff.
