It's where he got his start, so we can't blame him for being sad to see it end.
Josh Duhamel was on The Tonight Show last week to talk about the new Transformers movie, but also his return to All My Children before it goes off the air for good. He revealed to Jay Leno that the news of the show's ending was a shock for him considering how the loyal the fans have been to it over the years. He explained:
"I had heard, like a lot of people that had seen the show or followed the show, that it was going off the air and I was sad about that. It's been 41 years and that's the show that gave me my first opportunity and first chance. Part of the reason why it upset me is a lot of people won't get that chance now. The daytime genre itself is kind of going away."
It's true. We can think of countless stars who got their start working on soaps. Think of all the talent we'll be losing now with two less shows to foster young talent!
As for Josh, he added that it was a no-brainer decision for him to agree to return to AMC in its final days. He explained:
"I called up the casting director and asked if I could come back and do something, if there was room for me, as a sort of thank you… They called me back and said yes and I went in a couple of days ago and shot it."
Now that's loyalty! We bet they really appreciated that call! Oh, and for those of you have been paying attention and are asking, "Wait? Wasn't his character killed off?" Josh says - "They never found the body!"
Dun dun DUN!!!! HA!
