Boo! Homophobe Michele Bachmann Uses Katy Perry's Firework For Campaign

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GayPolitikKaty PerryMichele BachmannLGBT

michele bachmann uses katy perry song firework

We do NOT approve, Michele.

To recap, last week we heard all about a new profile of Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann, which revealed that she once thought an ex-nun and lesbian were attempting to kidnap her.

Later on in the profile, we heard the following quote from Michele about being gay:

"Any of you who have members of your family in the lifestyle, we have a member of our family that is. This is not funny. It's a very sad life. It's part of Satan, I think, to say that this is gay. Barbarians need to be educated. They need to be disciplined, and just because someone feels this or thinks this, doesn't mean that we're supposed to go down that road."

Then this weekend, Bachmann was "glittered" by a gay rights activist during a "conservative conference" in Minneapolis, Minn.

Now, we've learned that during the same conference in which Michele was "glittered," she first took to the stage while Katy Perry's Firework played.

Given the fact that Firework is all about tolerance and acceptance, which Michele Bachmann is NOT, we think she really needs to choose another song, and we're sure that Katy would agree.

What do U think? Is it hypocritical for Michele Bachmann to use Katy Perry's Firework in her campaign?

A- Of course it is; B- can she legally use that song without Katy Perry's permission?

  2. 2

Thankfully this disgusting creature will NEVER become president of the U.S.A.!
Michele Bachmann is a very dangerous creature!

  3. 3

yes, exactly, she can't legally use the song without Katy Perry's permission… which means, if its all legit katy perry got paid to let this lunatic use her song and doesn't give a fuck about it. celebrities are mostly hypocrites, I mean elton john played at rush limbaugh's wedding for gods sake.

  4. 4

She's a fucking idiot, and doesn't even know the meaning behind "fireworks". I'm assuming she never watched the music video (2 guys kissing at a bar/party), she wouldn't have playing the fireworks song. Unless she didn't choose it herself.

  5. 5

Ugh she's another republican c**t. Bitch should be in jail for her discriminatory comments.

  6. Beccx says – reply to this

If Perry is smart she will put a stop to that bullshit. Nobody wants a klan member I mean republican using their music especially if the music is already popular.

  7. 7

This is still a free country, and there is more than one political party. Do you really want to turn us into Cuba or Venezuela where people are not allowed to express their opinions without being murdered or thrown into jail?

  8. 8

But it worked for Michele's husband. He has not gone down that road. So there.

  9. 9

im pretty sure this quote was taken out of context. She was referring to people using the WORD 'gay' to describe something as 'an act of Satan'… Not the sexual identity. had she been a liberal canditate this wouldnt even be an issue. I absolutely adore you, Perez, but please use accuracy in your posts.

  10. 10

Funny how a chick as stupid as this brings up education - what she probably means is evryone that does not agree with her needs to be brain washed yet lets call it therapy instead - sounds nicer - reprogramming is what I bet she wants for gay individuuals

  11. 11

Katy Perry's mother is an evangelical preacher.

Liberals are very funny. They will label someone and idiot, discusting, lunatic, bitch…all great characture attacks that are the basis of liberal debating points. Never mind that Bachmann has a law degree, is a successful business owner, got into politics through the school board and worked her way up through Congress, all the while raising 5 kids and fostering 23 other trouble kids, has principle, values, morals. This is someone who we should emulate as a great role model, unless of course you are a liberal.

Re: Beccx – if you open a history book i think you will find the democrats were the party of the KKK

Re: Beccx – AREN'T Perry's family members ALL CLAN MEMBERS TOO??

  16. buck says – reply to this

Re: alrightalright – yes, i'm sure your education and vast political and vocational skills are far superior to Bachmann and thus enable you to label her a 'stupid chick'. got to love liberals!

  17. 17

Perez you are hilarious…keep preaching about "tolerance" and "acceptance" and then post 100+ articles a week about people who don't support gays and how awful those people are. I'm not saying I agree with what these people have to say…I support gay rights…but it's getting really annoying listening to u whine and complain about every person in the nation that doesn't agree with you.

  18. 18

Also, I agree with whoever said this quote was taken out of context. If you re-read it, it sounds more like she is saying using the word "gay" to describe something you don't like (i.e. this class is gay) is not the way to do things. But of course you take it to mean what you what it to mean and then bash her as much as you can.

Since you're delving into politics so much recently, you might want to start being a little more accurate.

  19. 19

If she weren't "pretty" would she get so much hype? No. America needs to stop giving this lady and Palin the time of day.. and focus on REAL candidates, who have a chance to WIN.. if HIllary couldn't do it, these ladies sure as hell cant.

  20. 20

Re: Pretty Boys Are Forever – back to africa bitch

  21. 21

While I don't like Michelle Bachmann and I think she is a nut job, I think her quote is misunderstood. I think she is talking about the word gay. Like using it in a sentence: "This is so gay, " Etc. Not being gay from the devil. I could be mistaken but I read the quote several times and that is what i took from it.

  22. 22

Re: buck – I think you need to stop watching Glen Beck or listening to Rush because the KKK is anything but liberal. Stupid.

  23. 23

Perez is anti-female. Or maybe I should say " you are a femalephobe".

  24. 24

Katy Perry should be excited she is using it, the fact that the message and video is so clear is both a commercial opportunity for her, and a way to raise up acceptance. If I were Katy I would be on every TV show that would have me, and take out a few billboards thanking this lady for her advocacy of acceptance. I am certain she would stop using it pretty quickly.

  25. 25

Re: blahblahBLAHxo – It's called freedom of speech asshole…it's amazing how liberals claim to be so tolerant and the champions of civil rights for all, unless you disagree with them, if you do then you are "disgusting" "racist" "bigot".

  26. 26

SO MANY LIBERAL IDIOTS ON HERE…….YOU ALL TALK ABOUT TOLERANCE….BUT ONLY IF THEY BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE. Bachman is a legit candidate and does have a shot at President. If Obama won….ANYONE CAN WIN!! THE USA is gooing down the crapper because ALL YOU IDIOTS keep thinking things like Sheen on drugs, Winehose on drugs, and being GAY is OK AND COOL……well ITS NOT!!! Doing wrong WILL ALWAYS BE WRONG!

  27. 27

Re: buck – If Michelle Bachmann opened a text book, she would know that The American Revolution started in Massachusetts, not New Hampshire like she stated in Manchester on March 12, 2011. I agree with you that she looks very good on paper. Law school, children, christian morals all sound very good but when she talks… it all sounds crazy. She makes very outragous comments that don't sit well with the homosexual community and their supporters.

Re: jfkwashot – the original targets of the KKK where, believe it or not, republicans. the 1st grand wizard of the KKK was actually honored at the1868 dmeocratic national convention. Republicans lead all efforts to pass federal anti-lynching laws and dem's succesfullly blocked those bills. the civil rights movement of the 60's was pushed through by Republican's while the dem's fought it and voted against it the whole way. the last member of the KKK in the senate was sen. robert byrd (d). open a history book stupid.

  32. 32

    Re: buck

That's because the parties were switched way back then. All the good things the Republicans did at the beginning of our country were really done by Democrats. The Democrats have always stood for liberty the Republican's for fascism. Bachmann is a classic sociopath. Her husband is very light in his loafers.

  33. 33

Re: Pandie914 – I agree with you completely! Just because she looks good on paper doesn't mean what she is saying isn't hateful and upsetting. Comments like will stop her from being on the Republican Ticket. Thankfully . . .

  34. buck says – reply to this

Re: Pandie914 – yes and i'm sure she thinks that we could save the economy by shutting down all ATM's, that there are 57 states, that you can walk through a window to enter the White House…the list is endless.

  35. 35

shes not a homphobe asswipe…youre a heterophobe. people who dont want gay marriage arent homophobes..this is still a free country.

  36. buck says – reply to this

Re: boston61 – oh…now it all makes sense…someone switch the parties on us..damn, i hate when that happens… liberals are hysterical, whatever fits your rhectoric..and by all means, do not open a history book!

  37. 37

Stop being so damn gay Mario. No one cares whether you approve.

  38. 38

    Re: Horndog

Freedom of speech means you don't get locked up for it - it doesn't prevent people from calling you something in return.

  39. 39

Everyone thought Sarah Palin was a joke (and maybe still is). But look how far she's come. Look how far Bush came. Don't underestimate her. Very scary!

  40. 40

michele must be devastated that a grown man who dresses up for toddlers and tiaras does not agree with her. Oh the humanity.

  41. 41

Bachmann hates America. All lunatic right-wing FRINGE folks do.

  42. 42

I think you have taken her comment out of context, Perez.

To the rest of you, right and left, the hate must stop. My goodness, people! (Oh, and btw……. the KKK was orginally organized by Democrats to kill Republicans who were pushing for civil rights. The fear was that the stronger and harder working freed slaves would take jobs. It had nothing to do with skin color at all.)

  43. 43

So if someone doesn't agree with your liberal agenda, they're wrong? They're somehow morally corrupt? It's obviously her opinion that homosexuality is wrong, and she's not alone in that determination. It doesn't matter whether her foundation is biblical or just because she's concluded on her own that gay is bad, what matters is that it's her belief and she has as much right to it and to express it as YOU do to believe and express the opposite. You're only tolerant when someone agrees with you, which just shows you to be the ugly hypocrite you are to the core. This is why no one takes you seriously, and rightly so. You do more harm to your pet cause then you'll ever do good, and I feel sorry for the homosexuals who want and deserve equal rights but are forced to endure your stupidity.

  44. 44

Re: boston61 – There was no "party switching." lol There were the Dixiecrats, but they numbered in the few. Once disbanded most went back to the Democratic party. Please, read some real history and stop listening to the media! Democrats were always the party of racism, (George Wallace ring a bell?) but just because LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act (which more Republicans than Democrats voted for), they were somehow able to rewrite their horrible history of racism. Amazing!

  45. 45

Re: buck – You are 100% correct.

  46. 46

Name calling. How mature. It is the limited tactic the fascist liberals have left. I am NOT a Republican. The policy arguments on the part of liberals is pathetic. Basically what I read regarding anti Republican diatribes is name calling coupled with skewed stats. Perez, do you ever have an original thought in your head or are you fed like a veal calf?

  47. 47

Re: buck – I'm sure you consider that a slam calling someone a liberal - however you're the one defending someone who seems to need an education and a bit less hatred

  48. 48

Re: buck – A lot of non liberals take exceptionto her as well - look at all the posts you fucking moron

  49. 49

Re: buck – Oh and wait she has given up all those kids for us - How supremely generous- Kind of like Palin - fucking over kids ( don't tell me thaey haven't suffered )to have people tell her how mother fucking special she is - Sorry buck - you loose

  50. 50

Re: buck – Oh and about my skills - never mind I have nothing to prove to you - I can tell from your posts where you stand though - I feel sorry for you - call me a lib again and I will gladly meet with you to discusss it - you weaK LITTLE NAME CALLING BITCH

  51. 51

Re: crazyny – Insecure much? Are you really challenging someone to meet you. You are really funny and pathetic at the same time. Oh and Buck does make some good points. I won't call you stupid because that comment is made for the far left liberals who basically call everyone racist or stupid.

  52. 52

I'm from minnesota. This chick is a psycho. I spent about 3 minutes chatting with her at a fundraiser a few years ago and honestly, yes. she's dumber than a box of rocks and about as entertaining. I just am so embarassed that she is from here. God help us if she ever gets elected.

A campaign hoping to grab the glitter from the inspiring song could seem ironic here.

  55. 55

Re: VIKINGSCHICK30 – In 3 minutes, you surmised that she was an idiot? Well, you must be a savant to be able assess an IQ in less than 5 minutes. I'm assuming that you also are a Dr in Psychology or Psychiatry.

  56. 56

you bash people that "bash" gays (even though she was misquoted)…How is THIS not hypocritical?

  57. 57

What's the point of being homophobic? By her saying that "if you even have thoughts about it, you still shouldn't go down that road" it makes me think that she herself has thoughts about it. And the fact that she might be different. It makes me sick to think that some people can be so ignorant. People love who they love. It's not an act of Satan. I understand that people who were born a long time ago have a hard time understanding how people can be gay just because when they were younger people weren't so open about it. It's awesome that people can be so open about it now. But isn't making homophobic comments is just like making racist comments? Do we really have to go through this AGAIN?! REALLY?! We learned this in kindergarten- "IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING NICE TO SAY, DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL."

  58. 58

”But we also know that the very founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the United States. … I think it is high time that we recognize the contribution of our forbearers who worked tirelessly — men like John Quincy Adams, who would not rest until slavery was extinguished in the country.”

—Rep. Michele Bachmann, speaking at an Iowan’s for Tax Relief event, Jan. 23, 2011 (The Founding Fathers did not work to end slavery, and John Quincy Adams was not one of the Founding Fathers)

  59. 59

”I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us 'having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,' and the people — we the people — are going to have to fight back hard if we're not going to lose our country.”

”I just take the Bible for what it is, I guess, and recognize that I am not a scientist, not trained to be a scientist. I'm not a deep thinker on all of this. I wish I was. I wish I was more knowledgeable, but I'm not a scientist.”

”Carbon dioxide is natural, it is not harmful, it is a part of Earth's lifecycle. And yet we're being told that we have to reduce this natural substance, reduce the American standard of living, to create an arbitrary reduction in something that is naturally occurring in Earth.”

”There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design.”

    —Michele Bachmann, Oct. 2006

  67. 67

”Lady Liberty and Sarah Palin are lit by the same torch.”

—Rep. Michele Bachmann, in a recorded message for a campaign event hosted by Sarah Palin to support Alaska Senate candidate Joe Miller, Oct. 28, 2010

  68. 68

”(Gay marriage) is probably the biggest issue that will impact our state and our nation in the last, at least, thirty years. I am not understating that.”

    —Michele Bachmann, March 2004

  69. 69

”Normalization (of gayness) through desensitization. Very effective way to do this with a bunch of second graders, is take a picture of 'The Lion King' for instance, and a teacher might say, 'Do you know that the music for this movie was written by a gay man?' The message is: I'm better at what I do, because I'm gay.”

    —Michele Bachmann, November 2004

  70. 70

”I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out under another, then under another Democrat president, Jimmy Carter. I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an interesting coincidence.”

—Rep. Michele Bachmann , on the 1976 Swine Flu outbreak that happened when Gerald Ford was president, April 28, 2009

  71. 71

”The President of the United States will be taking a trip over to India that is expected to cost the taxpayers $200 million a day.”

  72. 72

  73. 73

Homophobe? Didnt that glittering you reported take? Bummer. Guess thought police blew this one.

  74. 74

”I don't know where they're going to get all this money because we're running out of rich people in this country.”

—Rep. Michele Bachmann, accusing the Obama administration of plotting to divert money from Republican to Democratic districts and planning to tax the wealthy to fund the windfalls, Feb. 2009

  75. 75

Of course it's hyprocritical to use "Firework". Now ask if she gives a shit… I didn't think there could be someone worse than Palin, but here you have it.

  76. 76

Remember when Obama bashed the gays and said they don't have rights … yeah

  77. 77

Re: poodlewithamohawk – A veal calf… love it!! Too funny!!

  78. 78

Re: The TRUTH man! – So if you think being gay is soooo wrong… then why do you even read this website? Also, I don't think doing drugs and homosexuality should fall under the same category. Just my opinion.

  79. 79

LOL! Let's see what Katy has to say about this? I remember I once read a crazy right winger… wanted to use Bruce Springsteen's song "Born in the USA". Bruce took out a court order and request them to stop using his song…LOL!
